More ADTPro stuff, now with Uthernet II

Sorry about the bogus post, I accidentally put the body in the teaser panel and can't figure out how to fix it. Here is the "real" post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am quite happy that I can now transfer files back and forth with my Apple IIe using ADTPro and serial connection. Just one more observation on that- curiously, I still cannot run ADTPro from my CFFA card, but it runs fine when I boot off the 3.5" disk I got from RetroFloppy. For what it is worth, the CFFA boots into ProDos 8 2.01 while the ADTPro disk boots into ProDos 1.9.

Now- the Uthernet II card. I just got it yesterday, and cannot get ADTPro to work it it. It keeps saying "ETHERNET INIT FAILED" and tells me to run Config. I have tried both the auto config and the manual config.

As far as I can tell, it is functioning fine. All the lights light up that are supposed to, and it passed that "COX4" test described in it's manual.

Also-- I can run Contiki (which I was able to get thanks to the serial connection of ADTPro). Contiki gets it's IP configuration fine from the router, and I can telnet to it from my windows machine.

I don't know why Contiki configures automatically, but ADTPro will not. One question I have is; exactly what does the error "ETHERNET INIT FAILED" mean? I assume it means it cannot connect to the router. But I wonder if instead it means it cannot connect to my windows ADTPro server in which case it might be a firewall problem on my machine.

I wish ADTPro showed the results of it's configuration efforts like Contiki does. That would be helpful.

Does anybody have any thoughts? Smile

Thanks,
Skip

You need to download ADTPro from here: http://a2retrosystems.com/downloads.htm Download from the link on that page that says "ADT 2.0.1 with support for Uthernet II"

The URL in the manual is "supposed" to be correct, but the version of ADTPro at that URL isn't updated yet.

That did the trick Dog Cow. Thanks again!

It is curious that both version are identified as 2.0.1. I had to look at the Apple disk images to see the version where the Uthernet card didn't work was dated 03/21/2015 where the image that DOES work is dated 07/10/2015.

Yes, due to oversight they were both given the same version number.
