I would like to run Doom on my Apple IIe. However, Doom floppies are upwards of $1000. Is there a legal and affordable way to play Doom?

Buy an ESP32 Softcard from CVT. It works in a ][+, //e, IIgs or a lot of clones. He sells them on eBay. It can play Doom, Wolf3D, a bunch of console games, Mac Plus (68k), Atari , PC/XT level MS-DOS and more, plus act as a terminal for BBS through built in WiFi capabilities.
It's a super cool board and very affordable. You can buy them through CVT's eBay store.
It is also on Tindie here:

Thanks for the endorsement, but I need to add that it is still the shareware versions of both Doom and Wolfenstein 3D that come on the microSD card.
Fair enough, but I don't know of another way to play Doom at all on a //e. The stock hardware doesn't have enough horsepower.
I'm not sure if the iwad he is looking for is here:

Or if that is the same shareware one that comes on the Micro SD card with the ESP32 Softcard.
Thanks! I never realized that the Apple II couldn't handle Doom on it's own. I'll definitely look into this softcard. For now, I just got the hardware for ADTPro and I'll use that to run what games I can. Are there any other cool things I should try with the IIe? I've been playing with Applesoft Basic.
The shareware version that was released back in the day only had the first episode and that is what is on the microSD card that comes with the ESP32 SoftCard. Exactly the same situation with Wolfenstein 3D as well.
