Is it possible to put a 1ghz 17inch imac motherboard into a 700mhz 15inch imac .From what I myself can see there is one connector different. The display/speaker/fan connector.
my question is.....is there a way to get a connector and wire this up to make it work? I could live without the speaker! If there is Wireing diagrams etc could you let me know....I would be very greatfull!!

if that connector is different, that probably means that it wont work. It probably sends difgferent signals to the screen than on your 15 inch. You might just replace your screen with a 17 inch, but then thats getting expensive.
Thats what Im hopeing to find out!
Unfortunetly your probably right.....apple has a tendancey to complicate things like this.
I was hopeing that i could substitute that motherboard as my 700mhz imac is a little tired these days and not quite able to keep up games etc.
