I won this machine last night from the Goodwill auction site. Any idea what this switch is for? Unfortunately, I only have this photo from the listing until I go pick the machine up - probably later today.
Also there is a pic of the serial #. With what I think is a copyright date of 1989, I am hoping this a ROM 3 machine but I wanted to check the serial # to be sure. I have a feeling someone here knows how to decipher it.
Thanks.
Take the top off and take a pic. Then we can see the motherboard and what the switch is connected to
I will as soon as I pick it up. I was just excited/curious and thought someone might be able to ID it.
Somehow I keep double posting I need to be more patient with the submit button.
Don't worry, it's a ROM 3.
Thanks. I've got it with me now. You were, of course, correct. Very cool.
The card is a Doctor Design card. I've done a little quick reading online and it looks like it doesn't serve much of a purpose outside of somewhere like a school.
Oh well - I guess I'll just have to enjoy that extra 1mb of RAM.
The switch flips between internal speaker and headphone output.
