Whoops! is correct. lol
Item Description: “j;lkjsf;lkjasd;fljk”
I did not think fleaBay endorses human trafficking. Waged slavery, perhaps. Trafficking, probably not.
It seems that nobody in USA has noticed, that in Pakistan a baby had been prize in a gameshow....
fleabay is just the next step....
still waiting for livers, hearts and kidneys to be offered in fleabay too....
only limit: fleabay must get it´s fee´s....
that´s Tea Partty at it´s best!
If you want that kind of future ... next election soon...
and just to tell it clear for those who get thick neck reading this:
I hope you recognize what is sarkasm and satiric....
( at least i claim it to be that, to avoid lawyers..)

Translation:
Hopefully this is understandably translated.
That's actually a good deal compared to the other two that have sold recently. I don't have the listing for the second, but I believe they both sold for $23k-$25k USD
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-computer-one-of-the-first-100-low-serial-number-Works-with-extras-/181152615614
Edit: Found the second one... and that actually appears to be the second one.

Sold for $24099 back in July
That doesn't make sense that someone would ask that much less than they paid, when they seem to be selling that high.

'Old Apple'
I did not believe Greece to be part of another galaxy ...

maybe Metaxa is the right stuff to leave this orbit....
no cemments....
speedyG
$74 for a horses head lol.
perhaps the animal knows how to operate vintage apple computers, but is allergic to windows 8?
"Old Apple"
Yes.
I wrote this guy and asked if the auction was for the horse, or a computer?
No answer yet...
Of course, it is entirely possible that he intentionally placed the wrong picture up there.
Then again, it could be a "Horse Apple". LOL
Steven
Maybe you mean "road apple?"

While I don't recall the seller's name - I think this was for sale several years ago.
The seller : JoinBobbyNow tried to sell this item last year about this time.
If I remember correctly; he had several Apple items up for sale,
but he was asking outrageous prices for this and other things then too.
Tis the season after all.
Steven
Hmmmm.... if the Fall 1981/Winter 1982 is worth $500 I wonder what my Spring/Summer 1980 is worth? $10,000.00? $20,000.00??
Oh, wait, I meant $10.00? $20.00?
I was expecting some of these auctions to go high, but some were on the ridiculous side.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224987699 - a used SuperDrive - what would a new one go for? I'd like to know, I have bunches of NIBs.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224984535 - used AE 1.44 drive - these typically sell for $50-$60 or a little more if they're pristine.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224981135 - not surprised too much about this, except that CF cards have devalued Mustang controllers (overall).
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224977874 - WTF
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224971828 - Meh
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181278365464 - WTF
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224968543 - Acceleration inflation continues.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281224958381 - a few dollars more than if you'd bought it (and got it shipped from) 16Sector.
So tempted to sell off some Uthernet cards and ZipChips right now.
Make up your own mind if it's laughable or not.

Really?
Sean,
Are you really surprized at some of these?
Speedy and I both have been saying that folks are absolutely nuts right now.
Just wait... Christmas isn't until next week.
You think it's bad now, just wait a few more days.
More overpriced items will be coming out of the woodwork.
Steven
Is this Common, (LAST 8 of BATCH) Apple 1 Computer NTI bare board - JOBS Newton Mac I II movie???
I thought the description is... a stetch. The board was designed by Woz. Jobs was the pitch man. Thus it would follow that he had minimal input on the board layout, if at all. Claiming that somehow Jobs had a hand in some "unique" way to the board layout seem like a stretch. Maybe someone can ding Woz and see if he remembers anything on the topic (it's been 30+ years.)
This shows how important it is to read carefully.....
the seller - NewtonMike is AF member - and besides he DOES NOT refer to Steven Jobs !
READING CAREFULLY the description refers TO THE MOVIE "JOBS" ....
there is a difference between refering to Steven Jobs and the Movie....
a fact that members under normal circumstances are able to detect.....
UNLESS NOT READING CAREFULLY.....
more important fact: that are the last 8 replica boards of the "NTI version"-batch of the Apple-1
thereafter only the MIMEO ( as pre-NTI version ) will be availiable....
just my 5 cents...
speedyG
Still following the relisting of that catalog. If it ever sells (yeah, sure) I am putting up mySpring/Summer 1980!!!!
I can't believe this. This year seems so bad for this. I am going to put a few of my spare iie systems up there with some good cards in them and see if I can get a few hundred for them. I am sure they will end up here. :-).
MarkO,
Yup.
I bought one of the bare NTI boards from this guy at the beginning of the year.
I remember that he originally said that he had made a batch of them.
This must be the last of the batch and he wants to clear them out.
Steven
If you list up the items now - i guess your to late for "mad customers"..... the offer will close at christmas and
delivery will be to late for puting it below the tree as gift... and the large bunch of those willing to pay
such overpriced items will have gone then ......
you should have listed them at latest 1 1/2 weeks ago !
try next years christmas or if you can´t wait - try 4 weeks before Eastern.
Speedy
I know. That was my feeble attempt at sarcasm. You are correct though. 2 weeks ago I could have gotten top dollar.
Jay
He's Back! He's Bad!
He's JoinBobbyNow!
You thought he was high before?
Take a look at this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/APPLE-II-III-SANTA-POSTER-THE-MOST-RARE-OF-ALL-APPLE-POSTERS-/141143894799?pt=US_Vintage_Computing_Manuals_Merchandise&hash=item20dcd4eb0f#ht_63wt_1113
Any thoughts as to what I should charge for a used (not by me) piece of toilet paper from the restroom of a hotel in the city of a lecture hall that Steve Jobs once (allegedly) drove by?
Was thinking somewhere in the 2-3k range but was afraid that was too low!
Zan
I can top that; I have the actual piece of tissue in which Steve Jobs blew his nose with, and it's still wet! I am sure it's worth thousands!
One of my favorite dim bulbs of the season...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Apple-IIc-Computer-monitor-printer-LOOK-/400626390382?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item5d4731956e
LOL!
Is that card reader the 5.25 or 3.5 variety? That's funny.
J
eric and Jay,
I was just thinking that myself.
First I was not sure as I didn't see a "Card Reader" anywhere.
He didn't show a picture of the printer either (could that be the power supply?) lol
Steven
I'm glad you guys are posting these, thanks! You're doing the research legwork for some of us who consider selling our bits of our old stashes. (I prefer to do that here sometimes, sometimes on fleabay). Some may be ludicrous, but think we're seeing some of what could be the new "normal." The ZipChips and Superdrives (though more so the controllers) are pretty darn rare.
mutant_pie,
I bought a Super-Drive and Super-Drive Controller card about three years ago.
They are both still in the boxes they came in (Original boxes).
Used, but in exceptional shape.
I cannot remember exactly what I paid for them at the time,
but I know it was a whole lot less than what is being asked now.
Would I sell them?
Nope! They could come in handy one day.
Steven
Laughable or astounding?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121239077206
I have *4* of these, with matching sealed IW2 - geez.
then you should sell a few and make a few bucks
Dorkbert,
Your advice to Sean is easier said than done.
I myself, am a "Pack-Rat of the First Order". lol
I have even been knighted: "Sir Steven of Pack-Rat (Maryland Chapter)".
When you have spent a long time trying to obtain an item,
even if you are lucky enough to obtain several of them at once,
it is not an easy matter to contemplate selling them.
It is not a matter of money with most of us who collect Apple II items.
It is partly about the history of; and behind the item.
A good example of this is the Mountain Expansion Chassis I obtained last year.
There is a whole thread up here dedicated to it, as it arrived unusable.
With the help of several folks (you know who you are), and several months work, it is now fully operational.
It is one of my prized items.
I would never think of parting with it unless it was a dire emergency.
Will I get another?
Maybe, if the price and circumstances are right.
Steven
Here's another goodie:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-In-BOX-Apple-III-Motherboard-with-5-V-RAM-Card-/141147360914?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item20dd09ce92
For an Apple /// Mother Board???
Wow!
Steven
well, it seems the basis 108 seller may have finally flipped out --
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191010793720
hint - what won't move at 800 bucks after six months won't magically move when you inflate the price by ten fold.

http://r.ebay.com/GGhEWI
Nearly 1800 dollars for a Apple III, sounds exaggerated. Even if it would be in mint condition (which it is not).
hehehe I wonder if he "accidentally" added a 0?
so.. just curious, do people who buy these items even use them for the apple ii or you think once they receive them they immediately put them under glass like those discovered sunken treasures?. I know that when I buy something on ebay I actually use it for my computer and get heavy daily use from them.
Guess it depends on the buyer. I can't afford very expensive stuff, but the bulk of what I buy I flip as soon as I can. I pick and choose what I keep, mainly because of my budget (or lack thereof)
I have paid too much for things (not waaaayyyy too much, but too much) simply because I wanted it and I wanted it now. I would imagine many people have. That being said, my main goal is so sell as much as I can, making as much as I can, and using some of the profit to slowly build up the cache of items I wish to keep (after paying the bills I am generating the funds for in the first place!)
As for those who pay the HIGH prices, it is easy for someone WITH something to think someone else paid too much for the same thing. Yet I have not seen certain things available anywhere else other than ebay, no matter how hard or long I looked for them. Sometimes, to some people, it is worth the price.
Now when it comes to the asking price for some items (like the vast majority listed in this thread) it is kind of funny to watch, until you see what someone paid and then it is "Holy S#$*@!! I have one of those!!!! (or 4, or whatever!)
I would imagine most of the "high" priced items get used very little if at all. Would imagine it is a "I have one of THOSE now!" types of purchases. For me, if I do not sell it I have to use it. Matter of fact one of my problems is I cannot sell fast enough because I am too busy playing with whatever it is I am supposed to be selling!
Just my .02
here's another for giggles -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251409893536
I can't even fathom this. I am watching this one. If he gets that, I have 1/2 dozen of these sets also from the late 80s and I will sell a few at that price.
Steven it will be hard because I am a member of the Loyal Order of Packrats, but at $300.00 per I can give up 2 or 3 of them.
J
Dorkbert,
I got mine at Sears (Where America Shops)for $15.00. LOL
Jay,
Hold on as long as you can. lol
Steven
probably because the seller saw vintage micro store unloaded a III+ with RGB monitor for 1600 a few weeks ago (which I thought was absurd.)
it does beg the question if the seller knows the difference between a III and a III+.
