Sigh . . . my first TAM!

Of course the TAM I buy has some oddball problem, on which I'll probably spend more to fix than a decent TAM would have cost in the first place!
Anyone know what this buzzing thing is all about? Google-time I guess.

I'm betting its the inverter. If you have a weak solder joint, it might just cause that buzzing. (i have stuck my finger on a live inverter and it started to buzz and the screen went dim while i was being electricuted.)
It might also be the flourcent tube that is driven by the inverter.
Good job on the 317 dollar price tag.
From what I have seen, thats pretty cheap.
You might want to try taking the screen apart and resoldering the joints for the invertor, espc ially the flourcent tube.
for the last couple of hours.
Out of all the stuff I found, I liked this the best:

Now I'm jazzed all over again about making a "new" TAM out of a TiBook.
Funny thing, I really didn't expect to win the damn thing! I set a pretty low snipe, and came back a few hours later to find myself the new owner. Yikes!
