1000 is more than I need, but it sure would be nice to get just a couple…

holy schnikies

ENTIRE LOT TO BE REMOVED BY DEC 31, 2005

How on earth...? if it would take 2 guys maybe a half-hour to remove one of those... that's 500 man hours... over a weeks work for 10 men. This is a (mildly brilliant) scam. I'm not positive, but I think that, in its original manifestation, it may have been first introduced by Tom Sawyer.

Then again... if you could find 999 others that would go in on it with you... get a really nice set of shelves for a cool 10¢ and an hours work...

Yep

The auction cloes on the 16th and you have to call a week in advance. That means we've got nine days to get them all out, counting Christmas.

Who's in? Wink

Also

What's to stop you from just winning the auction, picking up a few shelves... and disappearing? Won't they take cash? Or go to every other auction site setting up auctions with their pics, but your contact info... and getting a bunch of auction winners to show up and claim their shelves?

(And... being that its a govenment building full of empty shelves... I wonder if anything interesting fell behind one of the shelves and has been missed by the clean up crew... like maybe a Black Mac... looks like they originated only a few hours away from the auction site)

Just go to IKEA and buy some

Just go to IKEA and buy some shelves. I bought the pieces to make a nice 4-shelf standing unit for like $20. They also have some good wall-mount shelving too.

Oh, how boring! Acute
C'mon, Dr. W, don't you feel the pull of these ridiculously huge lot deals?

1000 is more than I need, but . . .
LOL, a wee understatement perhaps . . .

I do, but not for shelving. If it were for, say, 1000 LCD monitors, then I'd be all over it.
