I allready read many articles about my poor iMac ATI Rage pro video card (onboard) and still think that there is more... There is no reason to limit vram in 6Mb unless is onboard (no socket), is a combination of 2 + 4 chips that is good to manufacturing and ATI/APPLE decide to close this door - but microchip is not limited to 8Mb of addresses: it is plantad over main memory (one after an other before) as I can see on mainboard. In classic environment, all games become faster when main memory is increased - video takes advantage. With 160Mb I can play Unreal, Oni, Descent 3, and many others. So why Panther does not take this advantage? Can I replace vram with other bigger chip or "mount" extra memory? Or am I dreaming?

I don't think it's necessarily VRAM that is your problem- it's just that OS 10.3 does NOT support 3D on the Rage II/Pro chips. Just doesn't.
