I just obtained an empty G5 and I want to make it into a pc for a gaming machine. Are there any compatability issues with pc hardware? If its just making some modifications to the case I can handle that.
Also, I know someone who is going to give me a pentium 4 cpu/motherboard. Should this work?

It should work. On ebay i saw something like that, it was a g4 case (grape colored) with a dell p3 mobo (motherboard) in it. The power supply might be losse. Send me a pic and specs when you get done.

heres a link to a Lian-Li case that looks almost exactly like the G5. Only 3 Exeption:
1. Multi bay on the putside.
2. on wheels/ no top handle things
3. Seperate HHD comparment on the inside to save on heat.

You really can't see the internal bits from the front of a G5. You would need a pretty bright light to see them. The back also has too much "stuff" showing. It's like they had a cool idea about the case and then gave up half way.
I didn't think it was THAT bad but then I looked at the price. Needs fewer external access drive bays and more mesh, the wheels might be a nice feature but shouldn't show from the front, at least not like that. I do like the front ports placed horizontally near the bottom better than how they're placed on the G5. The claims of a cooler case are probably what we should be annoyed with, not the look. Its possible it runs cooler than other PC cases yeah, but its obvious they're trying to imply that "G5-look" = "G5 cooling".

Everybody wants to be like Apple so they copy everything Apple does.

This is just another chance to rip off Apple's design excellence.
And if you wanna play games get a PS2. It amazes me how people can waste a decent computer playing games. Don't get me wrong I love playing games, but a computer is so much more than a game machine. Such a waste......

Yea, your about as wrong as you can be. The apple g5 case design was knocked off from the lian li case. The Lian li case design has been around for much longer then the apple g5. Lian li is the leader is system case design. I wouldnt be suprised if this case was built by lian li. Mac users think they are so creative. Idiots

Well you see, jimmy-jimmy, that the comment you're referring to was a more general comment about Apple's design leadership throughout its history. There would be few experts who would disagree that this is the case - whether they personally prefer Macs or PCs.
Now I'm not a Mac zealot. My main-use computer runs '98, and I find the Mac vs. PC arguments unproductive at best, very childish at their worst. Given that, you can guess my opinion of your comments based on the fact that you went through the trouble of signing up to a Macintosh board, just so you could lob in an insulting and largely incorrect comment.

Thanks for proving to use that the average IQ of most PC users is measured in the double digits. And for the record, Lian Li doesnt even make their own cases, they have them manufactured for them by a 3rd party.
