Working to install a Pioneer DVR-710 16x16 drive on my G4 Quicksilver.
(Now if there are no drivers for this Pioneer model to work on a Mac, tell me now and I'll take this drive back and exchange it)
This drive reads and plays DVD's fine. The only application that seems to notice the DVD-R under OS 10.3.9 is iDVD. Trying to write images to it, or trying to use this as a storage DVD is not getting me anywhere so far.
Two questions, will this drive work with my Mac as a storage DVD writer (not just media), and what applications can I use on the Mac to write on DVD's aside from iDVD? (And will I need to download DVD-R drivers for this?
Thankful as always, Doc Clu
Try Patchburn:
http://www.patchburn.de/
yea try patchburn cause i dont think that model was supported in panther . now if you had tiger 10.4.8 or 9 it would have support. i had to do the same with my Pioneer DVR-110D when i had jaguar to install patchburn. in OS 9.2.2 someone made me a modded PioneerCDR authoring support extension that will allow the DVR-110D to have iTunes and finder burn support.
GRRR dbl post thanks to dialup
Thank you! This suggestion worked great. Got patchburn on the computer & made my FIRST DVD. That rocked.
Alright, anyone up for a another question?
I have found that .avi movies can be converted to .mov by Quicktime and used in iDVD.
I tried to make .mpg to use in iDVD (usually .mpg is more usable than .avi for most things Apple) and iDVD did not like it. I converted them from .mpg to .mov and iDVD still did not like it. What suggestions would there be to make a .mpg usable in iDVD?
Thanks!
