You can put a mdd cpu in a Gigabit Ethernet but apple moved the cpu slot in newer systems will this still work?

AFAIK, the pinout for the MDD processor is completely different than the Gigabits and DA's.
i'm pretty sure that its different also. all of the G4 CPU upgrades are for quicksilver and below. theres nothing foe the MDD AFAIK
does useing a qs cpu just need 12v to pin 4? and way can't you use 667/733 cpus in 466/533 models?
i'm not sure about the first question but for the second: the 667/773 had a 133 mhz bus while the 466/533 had a 100mhz bus. so you can use them, but you have to mess with bus/processor ratio's. otherwise the 533 would be running at 709 mhz and the 667 would be running at 501 mhz
the 466 is a 133 bus
Yea, all DA's had 133 mhz busses iirc.
Who says you can't? As far as I know, the only difference is the heatsink, fan, & cowl. Electrically, they should work fine.
QS CPUs just need the 12v to "pin 4." I've run an 800 MHz, 867 MHz, and now a 933 MHz QS G4 in my DA (originally a 466 MHz model).
Peace,
Drew
