Hi,
since you are hosting a mirror of the former site appleii-box.de I'd like to know who the original creator of this site was. I would like to get in contact with her/him.
Do you have any contact info?

He used the name SirSpeedy, and from what I hear he is unfortunately no longer among the living.
Harro Walsh, know here as speedyG.
You're correct of course... I had his nickname wrong.
It is a real loss that he's not around anymore. He's missed.
That is really sad to hear.
The reason why I asked was, I'd thought about reviving the site at its original domain and continue the work, since it was always a good source of information for me and the most archives on the net (including the one here) have broken links in it.
Did you purchase it? I've been checking the domain periodically for that reason, but hadn't seen it become available.
Yes, I registered it a few days ago.
In the meantime there was some kind of affiliate news site reachable under that domain but as I saw iz availible I thought I register it before it's gone again ;)
I think it would be a great tribute to SpeedyG for his site to be reincarnated at it's proper location.
It is interesting to know the history behind this forum, thanks.
And I would like to see the applefritter email notifications sent by schnitz.com to forum members to come from a "trusted" domain. GMail now gives warnings on these emails not being encrypted.
I would agree that a tribute site to Speedy would be great! He was such a fixture here on the Fritter for years!
