I installed the new server at CTI Networks in Mechanicsburg, PA on Friday. The server is a Dell R730XD from Dr. Webster. It had two 2.4 GHz Xeon E5-2620 CPUs, 32 GB RAM, two 120 GB SSDs, and eleven 4 TB HDs. I added another 96 GB RAM and a twelfth 4 TB drive. We ended up going with all hardware RAIDs. The SSDs are mirrored and contain the OS (ProxMox). There's a six-drive RAID 6, formatted as ext4, which is big enough for everything right now and will contain the VM images. Next is a five-drive RAID 6 array that will be used for scratch/backups, and then we have one hot swap drive. VMs images are in qcow2 format. We have a bunch of static archives, and I think segregating them by qcow2 file will make backups easier.
The git server is down right now for transfer. Misfire (hotline BBS) is up, but any accounts created this evening or tomorrow morning won't make it to the new server. The main site will be migrated once I'm confident everything's working correclty for those two and tidy up a few things.
Misfire is up and running on the new server. Going to finish up the git server later today.
git.applefritter.com is on the new server now and running.
Matrix, which includes the IRC/Discord/Slack bridge, has been migrated to the new server. That leaves nothing on Dacentec, but I just paid for May, so I'm going to leave it up until the end of the month just in case.
