Actually the "buyer" left feedback...

Well insanitor,
you just have to look at the "other items" of the guy Steven mentions to recognize whats about the guy....
he´s just another estate-, locker-, storage- and pawnshop hunter/digger.....
the kind of guy you might call nowadays a modern kind of claim-field hunter......
the kind of guy that knows quite a bit about bidding in live auctions -
but nearly nothing about the content of the boxes they get....
you can claim it to be the modern kind of wild west spirit....
"i don´t know anything....
i don´t wanna work....
but i waana make a lot of bucks ( by gambling ) !
yippie i yeah..."

You can buy "Extremely rare MacinFile external hard drive for Apple Macintosh, vintage" for just US $7,500.00
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Extremely-rare-MacinFile-external-hard-drive-for-Apple-Macintosh-vintage-/291440568276
Since it's my auction, I can explain it.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to ship a substitute card -- which, IMO was a better rev C offering (one in original box and with driver disks). I told the buyer what I was doing and the circumstances for why I had to do it, and they seemed very pleased at the upgrade. I recv'd a positive feedback and 5 stars across the board. Also, my feedback is impeccable (so far). http://www.ebay.com/usr/apple2fan
Since I still have the first card, and now have a little more time to deal with it, I've re-listed it.
The 'buyer' was another (very active) 'fritter' critter.
I figured there was a good explanation.
If anyone would like to know...
I am the buyer of Sean's SCSI Card.
He explained to me why it was a substitute
and I am thoroughly satisfied with our transaction.
"Go Sean!!!"

In other news; This item was $9,963.00 two hours ago:

I guess this seller finally woke up from his Scrooge McDuck dream and brought the price down
after I asked him what type of drugs he was using and could I please have some. lol
Steven
File Under "SCORE!!!"
Picked this up this afternoon:

Not a bad price for a IIc Plus unit.
Steven
I am not sure about this motherboard...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1978-1979-APPLE-II-2-MAIN-LOGIC-BOARD-RFI-with-RAM-motherboard-/361276963645?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item541dc8fb3d
The serial Number says 8502.
That leads me to believe this is a late II board used in a II Plus,
but "1985"? Seems a bit later that it should be.
Any ideas?
What!!!
Out of all the things you didn't have, one of them was an apple rev c SCSI card...?
Strange indeed.
It's an Apple Service part (motherboard swap).
Nope. Not really that strange.
I do have one brand new, sealed in the box, never opened.
I decided to get one to use.
Sean happened to have one for the right price.
Viola! (that's French you know. It makes me bilingual. lol)
A transaction was born.
Steven
LOL, et voilà! Une blague!
Are they really asking this much for a Replica I???

Amazing.
Steven
Hello Steven,
one of the things i mentioned first at the Apple 1 replica was the poster in the background...
did you recognize the years numbered there ?
1955 2011 ?
since when do we mention the birth of Steven Jobs as foundation date of the company ?
He must have been the youngest CEO of the world ....
jump off from mothers boobs and jump right into the CEO chair....
that´s a career....
LOL
of course there is a lot other stuff laughable too...
i know HTML is a really difficult language....
i battle with that in my 2 sites every day....
just besides the board in this first offer is not from the manufacturing of Mike Willegal... it´s from the manufacturing of the NTI-board replica from Newton Mike - the Newton 1....
( the most other replicas are from pre-NTI boards... ) -
and the second offer...
well Newton Mike´s Newton board ( not Newton-1 ) getting framed....
speedyG
I found this ad very laughable... and the seller very hopeful.
http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/sop/4989730229.html
Steven, didn't you know a used Apple sticker is worth at least $55? Must be, as the last floppy file I bought cost me $1 at the Sally-Anne thrift shop.
BillO,
I know that a Woz autograph is worth almost $900.00 with a II plus attached to it.
At least that is what one person on eBay thinks. lol
I told him that a (currently) Woz autograph was going for between $40..00 and $50.00.
I have not received a nastygram yet in return. lol

Hey, factor for inflation and those IIcs are only selling for about a fifth of what they sold for new...
But, yeah, they ain't new.

Wonder if he knows his monitor stand is upside down...
I don't think it really matters.
No one is going to pay that price for it
upside down or right side up.
Steven
I think it's laughable that there hasn't been anything laughable in 3 days! LOL!
Maybe it´s just a hangout,
cause a lot of members start new tasks related to better weather and starting summerdays.....
winter has gone....
so some members creep out of the wintercavern like me and yogi bear....
silly offers at ebay never stop....
it´s just that nobody nails them up here because of cleanup of bicycles, surf-boards, sailboat,
parachute, motorcycle, diving equipment and other fine goods used for rest of the summertime....
speedyG
Speedy, BillO, and all,
Well you are both right.
It has been a combination of things really, leading up to
the fact that I was just laid off of my latest job.
Steve is not a Happy Camper.
Especially since this (AGAIN) throws a Monkey Wrench into my
plans for attending Kansasfest this year.
I have been up on eBay doing my usual cruise through the Apple II auctions,
but there are just so many "Laughable" items that I don't know where to start.
There have been a couple items that I would like to bid on.
One is a ROM Card, but the seller did not know whether it had Integer or AppleSoft ROMs.
I cannot read the ROM Part Numbers from the picture he provided.
I provided him with the numbers for the Integer ROMs hoping that he would look at the
card and add what it is to his description.
It has not happened yet and I will not bid on it until I know what it is.
I was printing up copies of my resume earlier this evening and
tomorrow I get to start cleaning out my desk space.
The one good thing that has happened is that my parent company has set me
up for an interview with Lockheed Martin on Monday.
Wish me luck.
Steven
Steven, best of luck!!!
I had that call (or a pretty similar one) 5 years ago and have found myself afloat since.
I have actually just declared myself officially retired at 57 following a 33+ year career in one industry (IT) and 5 fruitless years trying to get back in.
I did well there, but had no intention of retirement this early. Honestly, I don't know what to say but that I wish you the best, really.
Let us know how you make out, and I honestly hope you make out well.
Bill
That isn't greed, that's savvy opportunism and selling. He broke the system up for parts, and is flipping it. Hardly a new thing.
BillO:
Everything is set for the interview on Monday.
Sean:
That's exactly what I was thinking. He took it down for parts and made a killing.
I watched the sale and two weeks later I saw the parts and I thought to myself
"This guy is either crazy, or the smartest SOB around."
lol
Steven
And now for another Original(?) Apple II.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331549538046?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
This must be a Dealer Updated unit.
Steven
UPDATE
The seller says that the keyboard is an original Apple II keyboard,
that keyboard types were switched to II Plus keyboards in later original Apple IIs.
Is this disputable?
Steven
That type of keyboard was used for some Apple IIs produced during the Apple II+ era. Of course not many people were purchasing Apple IIs at that time, but they were on the product list, and turn up on Ebay once in a while.
These "late" Apple IIs seem to go for around $500. The seller took a best offer so not sure what this particular unit sold for. Looks like the unit was upgraded to Applesoft, maybe the firmware card got pulled. It is my opinion the whole motherboard was replaced, but I can't be sure.
As a rule of thumb, Apple IIs with serials before the 30k range came with the keycap power light, those in the 30k range had the raised square power light, and those produced after had the flush square light. Many early units wind up with the later keyboard due to replacement, but later units are not seen with earlier keyboards (or motherboards).
Check out this bad boy:

This is an early "RAM CARD" by Apple model #600-0118.
The more common is "LANGUAGE CARD" model #670-X006.
What the hell do these people think they are selling??

georgel and All,
Yes... it is Laughable.
He is asking four times what it is worth as a 800k 3.5 inch drive.
He is from Kansas.
Maybe he clicked his heels three times and made a wish for stupid people
when he placed this on eBay? lol

LMAO! I gotta remember that one!

Georgel,
What strikes me is the statement from the description of the Vulcan Card:
I have never heard of someone using a Vulcan Card to run a CFFA Card.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
Steven
It is possible to connect and use a CF card with Vulcan controller but if the intention is to use one and the same CF card with Vulcan and CFFA cards it won't work because they use different data formats.
Good evening all.
I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day.
Here are a few of the flowers sprouting on eBay:
First, an $800.00 Apple II Plus:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321764486990?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Second, This Apple IIe has returned for $1,199.00:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/371335140261?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
And last, but not least, a IIgs with an AE 6Meg (I don't think so) RAM Card for $650.00:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321764542496?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Oops! I forgot the Memory Card. Half the RAM for 3 times the price:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321764535421?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I think the asylums are letting people out for Summer early. lol
Steven
Well...
In the last 30 seconds the price on this Apple II
went from $1655.00 to $5246.00.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Early-Production-Apple-II-Computer-1979-Serial-A2S1-2586-Motherboard-600-9001-/271881093260?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEDWX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=5C5ra06hpnDHyXpNrKZ2gyiplW0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
I kinda figured it would hit at least 5k and it did.
In my opinion a good auction.
Not sure about the price though.
Steven
No Mickey here!!
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Apple-Desktop-Bus-Mouse-II-ADB-Black-Vintage-Rare-Macintosh-TV-M2706-/321669088777?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae4f8c609
....
then there was light...
and the mouse recognized it´s price
and fainted black ashamed....
BillO, Speedy, and All,
Apparently jonathangoldman has seen that light
and it has struck him with stupidity of the highest order.
Steven
Buying from Jonothan Goldman is a bad experience. Thank goodness for eBay and PayPal buyer protection.
So he's fled to Canada now or is this another web of fake addresses...
Well, apparently that mouse is worth it's weight in gold! No kidding! If he gets $2500 for it, I will probably take up drinking, having lost all faith in the sanity of my species.
