Take a look at this:

Holy Ratsh*t Batman!
Steven
Claims to be equipped with SCSI cable -
But it´s in fact only Cable for SC ( Serial Card ) !!!
Probably they just don´t know better at that store ???
At the other hand, maybe that´s the reason they refuse to display view of the inside part of that IIe ?
trying to drive speculations ?
speedyG
First i have seen this:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/LABYRINTH-OF-CRETE-Apple-II-2-DISK-ADVENTURE-INTERNATIONAL-Lankhor-/261642634945?pt=Klassische_Computer&hash=item3ceb1dc6c1
i thought i have been struck by a "lightning of madness"....
but then i switched to the list of the other offers of this guy:
http://www.ebay.de/sch/collectors4life/m.html?item=261642634945&hash=item3ceb1dc6c1&pt=Klassische_Computer&rt=nc&_pppn=r1&_mPrRngCbx=1&_udlo=1000&_udhi
and while scrolling along the list, i recognized - i must have been beamed to another Universe !
Is there in outer space really a kind of "parallel universe of amiga freaks" willing to pay such prices ???
Or did somebody pour a horror-trip into my coffee ?
HELP ! Beam me back to my home -universe - Scotty !!!
speedyG
CAPTAIN! If I push it any harder, it'll blow! I can give you auxiliary power in a few minutes...
Insanitor,
"Do you always figure repair times by a factor of four Mister Scott?"
Of course, we all know that it's "That time of year" again.
All the crazy people bring out the things that have been in their closets for 20 years and expect to make a killing.
I will say though that this guy just does not give up:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271679967779?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
He refuses to take any less for a computer that just is not worth it.
Oh well...
Steven
... and I always thought that you could find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
Silly me, the pot of gold must be in a Mac IIci
Well, DUH!!! Of course it's worth the price of a pot of gold. After all, it is not just a IIci but a FULLY FUNCTIONAL IIci with extras AND original software!!
Jeez!
(insert sarcastic rolleyes icon here)
Zan
Certainly, sir. How else can I keep my reputation as a miracle worker?
Hey now, watch it! As crazy people, we should have the right to kill. Otherwise we would not be crazy people!
Good Evening All,
There are a few items I should post up here, but this evening
all I wanted to do was say "Happy Holidays to all of you and your families".
Be safe.
Steven
This one gave me a laugh:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-LOT-118-Floppy-5-25-RARE-sofware-games-drivers-for-Apple-II-and-IIc-/151495876570?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2345db9fda
Let's take all the floppy disks out of their sleeves and put them on a carpet!
Someone needs to make an Offer of $20.00, and free shipping.. For Formally, Nicely Maintained Apple ][ Floppy Disks.
I see One Original Disk, in the Lower Right Corner.....
MarkO
the location ( on the carpet ) is probably a "omen"
maybe a lady rushed along the disks with vacuum cleaner before re-arranging them and taking the pictures----
reminds me to a aged lady in the mid 80´s in a small storecompany....
old standard IBM-PC-XT with damaged Seagate ST225 harddisk....
question to the lady :
"did you perform making backup´s ?"
answer:
"yes i did !"
....lady rushes to the filecabinett across the room, drags out a loose leaf binder
and places them upfront of me:
"here they are, sorted by week and year! "
opening the loose leaf binder and - indeed!
the sets of 5,25" disks accurate destroyed by a hole puncher and then the read/write slot closed by adhesive label
marked with typewrited date, week and month and diskno. and sorted to the loose leaf binder!...
remark:
not a joke .... real life incident happened in munich in Oct. 1985 !
.... sigh...
question still remaining to the pictures in the offer:
are the disks at the carpet sorted alphabetical by title or by date ?
it can´t be by color... otherwise the two red ones would have been placed aside each other....
there are still unsolved mysteries about the human brain...
speedyG
Haha! Go big or go home...
Somehow, 118 disks just doesn't look like a $100 value when stored vertically in a shoebox.
And SpeedyG, your disk sort example is a classic!
Most of the brain (not only human) is unknown and is a mystery.
I have a related Story...
This was told to me by a friend, who worked at a Value Added Reseller ( VAR ) in Salem, Oregon, U.S.A.
Back in the 1980's, there was a small company in Oregon that had a Novell Netware 2.x server. This server was booted off a Floppy Disk, but the Server ran off a Hard Drive. No Floppy, No Server Boot.. All your data is still fine on the Hard Drive...
This Boot Floppy kept getting damaged.. The Media was fine, but the Formatting was corrupted. The Disk had to be recreated.. Like THREE or FOUR Times... So after recreating this Boot Disk, again, and reminding the Client to Keep It In a Safe Place.
As the Technician was leaving, they noticed the "Keeper of the Disk", placed the Disk on the Side of a Metal File Cabinet, and Hanging it there with a Magnet!!!
I am VERY SURE that there was a revisiting of the Topic of "Keeping You Floppies Safe"..
MarkO
That is like the "Keeper of the Human" placed the human in the gallows, hanging there with a rope around his neck.
You won´t believe how many times i have seen in private guys storing their disks
in a diskstoragebox just right besides one of the big 150/200 Watt loudspeakers of the
stereo in the living room..... just less than 40 cm besides the magnet of the Bass-speaker......
and even better: wondering why they have so much trouble with the stored files at the disk.....
every time i see such habits, it starts in the rear of my head banging to my internal ear the song from ACDC:
"I´m on the highway to hell....."
speedyG
I have come to the conclusion that when it comes to Technology, people fall into Two Categories....
Those who are interested in knowing how something works, ( to the limit of their understanding ), and those that must believe in Magic.
The First Category, at least understand the Basics of Floppy Disks, and DON'T Punch Holes in them, or Store NEAR Magnetic Fields. The Second Category, well.......
MarkO
so nearly all married wives are category 2 ?
Speedy,
I do not think that anyone whose wife is close by as they look at this
will neither confirm nor deny that statement.
LOL
Steven
of course not ! I at least know that i´m a "chauvi".....
HO! HO! HO!

Seems a bit outrageous, no?
Zip Chip
Love to have one, but not at $1000.
Anybody have an idea what would be a good price for one?
One identical to the one you linked to just sold for $760 just yesterday.
I have sold two (no box or anything, just the tested chip and software) for $200 & $300 respectively.
There is a Zip Chip II-4 installed in a IIc right now listed for $339 or best offer.
You'd get a nice clean IIc and the chip if the seller accepts your offer!
I would offer less of course since it is a 4MHz Zip not the 8 but it is the only other one I see right now.
Probably wait till after christmas when the prices go back down somewhat.
Zan
All,
I did not get the link for this one, but
it is up on eBay right now:
A 5.25 Disk Drive Box for $50.00.
Yep! Just the box.
I think there was a $12.00 charge for shipping too.
The funny thing is that there is a 5.25 Disk Drive
several auctions down for a lot less than what the box is going for.
Merry Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho!
Steven
Let's get some boxes, spray paint, do some Turk 182 stuff and sell!
Two Grand for a couple of apple II plus's... Seems like a bit much.
Did you read the text ???
I never recognized serial no.: 361.936 to be very low serial number.from very early Apple II... ???
maybe i just believe in insane definitions...
Up to my believe at least such no. must be below 10.000 to be called "low serial".....
And the Winner is:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141506611031?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649
Wow!
But how about this one...?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-VINTAGE-MACINTOSH-IIci-COMPUTER-FULLY-FUNCTIONAL-W-ORIGINAL-SOFTWARE-/271716191474?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
Where do they come up with those prices? :-o
He says it right in the description. He saw a new one go for 18,500 on eBay. Maybe if it was sealed and had a Steve Jobs personal dedication to an employee as a gift or something in the box.
Usually you get crazy prices because people think what they paid for something 25 years ago is close to what it's worth. Sure there are a few items like that or worth more, but most things aren't. I try to explain this to my wife every time we replace something like a vacuume or a toaster that on eBay you might get a couple of bucks for the old one, but nothing even close to half of what you paid.
I should have bought one of these, "back in the day".. Oh well...
UltimateApple2 is bringing some new 2MB AE RamWorks Expanders to market...
MarkO
Good evening All,
I just wanted to say "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holiday's"
to all the Fritter Critters.
Please be safe while you're traveling.
"God bless us. Every one." Tiny Tim
Steven
LOL,
Just what everyone wanted for Christmas!:

2K for two II Plus units?
I don't think so.
And while we're at it, maybe this IIe strikes your fancy?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/371222343979?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
NOT!
Steven
The 2 Apples from above are same as in posting 1227 and same comment as in posting 1228.....
we´re back to the armenian carpet dealer:
"every morning a..... get´s up... you just gotta catch that guy..."
and same is valid to the offer of the IIe.....
I´m still awaiting for the:
"once in a lifetime find of junk i rescued by risk of my life from the trash container for 10k or more....!"
speedyG
You and me both, brother! LOL
Steven
Update:
I did not get the URL, but there's another $600.00 IIc up on eBay as of 12/26/14.
Nothing special except the price.
Why

when
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DS1216E-Manu-DALLAS-Package-DIP-SmartWatch-RAM-16K-66K-ROMRAM-/191046639935

etc...
Are you saying that these chips are completely identical?
Yes.
There are other Dallas chips. Are they compatible?
DS1216E should be compatible without any patches. F needs socket rerouting.
I don't even know what to say...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Apple-IIGS-system-limited-edition-Wozniak-Woz-silk-screen-signature-/121530278074?pt=US_Vintage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item1c4bc4e0ba
bushnrvn,
Just say "No".
Steven
.... after re-reading this thread and a similar discussion in another forum, a questions comes to my mind:
Is there any such thing as a "average price list" for Apple II hardware? You, just some kind of excel chart which says "an Apple //c should cost no more than $x, a ZIP chip is sold vor $ x on the average"...
A member of our German community has compiled a "Rarity List", based on a comprehensive monitoring of eBay sales. However, the list doesn't go into much detail concerning Apple-specific hardware an peripherals.
Here's a link to the list:
http://www.cyberfritz.com/rarity.xls
theart02,
I personally have never seen one.
I can, from over 15 years experience, give you a pretty close
estimation of what the normal prices are and should be
for certain items up on ebay for Apple.
Don't forget that you also have to take into consideration supply and demand
for certain items.
For instance ZIP Chips:
A 4 MHz ZIP Chip versus an 8 MHz ZIP Chip
The 4 MHz could run from $150.00 to $350.00 depending on how many are being sold and who wants one.
The 8 MHz could run from $500.00 and up. "Atlas 'Dad" has one on eBay for $999.00.
Then you have the "4 MHz ZIP Card". I have seen a few of these in the last couple of years.
They don't show up very often and I have never bid on one, but they can go for upwards of $300.00 to $450.00.
I prefer the chips myself.
I can tell you one thing though, the prices for an Apple IIc have started going through the roof for no reason that I can see.
A IIc is a IIc. There are very few upgrades for them.
I can buy an operational IIc with a power supply for less than %45.00 to $50.00 each on eBay (they used to be $15.00 to $25.00 each).
There are certain sellers who are asking $125.00, $250.00, $300.00, and up to $500.00 each for a IIc, Power Supply, and Printer.
They may even toss in a few disks.
Granted some are "Clean" units.
Granted some are "ROM 03" and "ROM 04" units.
In my opinion, they are the diminutive workhorse of the Apple II family.
I refuse to pay more that $50.00 for one.
I can get it working myself.
I can tear it down and clean it myself.
I can buy and install a ROM 03 or ROM 04 chip myself.
(OK Steven...get off the soapbox. lol)
To get back to the question, I have not seen a list showing average prices.
Steven
I don't know if this one was posted earlier in this thread or not, but here you go:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-AppLE-ll-PLUS-1979-Computer-A2S2064-DRIVE-1-AND-2-JOY-STICK-/131378311694?pt=US_Vintage_Computing_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e96c1f20e
$400 for an "AppLE II PLUS" that in reality is an Apple IIe. And look at the keyboard, its missing two keys.
And last but not least look at the feedback! He has 33.3% lol!
Another "FrankenApple II"?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/171635776779?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The first thing I noticed was the keyboard and Motherboard Serial Number.
Steven
The Latest Apple ]['s did Overlap production with the Earliest Apple ][+'s.. But a Motherboard date of 8051, is Very Late indeed... I have read somewhere that the Apple ][ was produced through the end of 1979.
Also the First 16K has the Apple Logo on them, the Last 32K doesn't... Maybe a Warranty Motherboard Swap, under Warranty, with an Original Apple ][ built in DEC-1979, and repaired One Year later???
MarkO
