Hello,
A few month ago I bought a nice ITT 2020 for cheap. It wasn't working. I cleaned the rom's leg (very corroded) and checked the whole ram (had to replace 6 bad chips).
Now it's back to life ! (except for the speaker, I still have to figure it out)
I managed to successfuly run a couple apple 2 softwares from a floppyEmu, but some other just freeze the computer or run but with graphic glitches.
I know there's been a few specific sofwares for the ITT 2020 but I can't manage to find a source for them, either as cassette dump or disk dump.
Do any of you know where to find an archive for that ? Or someone has that on there files ? My collection is sometimes on exhibition and a software made specifically for it would be a big bonus I think.
Thank you for your time reading
- Ben
Cool Ben, I am restoring an ITT 2020 as well.
No software with it unfortunately... interested as well!

Hi Ben,
i actually use an Apple ][+ (Clone) and an Apple //e enhanced, and i've never seen an ITT2020, but heard of it.
The only specific software for the ITT2020 i found in ~40 years Apple usage is an ITT2020-SERVICE-DISK. I placed a copy of this together with some other DIAG-Tools in the attached ZIP-file. Run the MENU program on the service disk to start diags.
Regarding the speaker: I remember an Apple ][ with the speaker not working and the reason was just a broken cable !! Next thing to check may be the transistor, creating the signal. On many Apple's, including my clone, this is a NPN-Darlington (MPS A13) transistor.

Eberhard
Thank you a lot. I just tried it and everything works and tests good.
If you are looking for some other software, just let me know, maybe i can help ... !?
The following internet sites may also be a good choice for info and software:

I've looked closer at the speaker issue, and testing the speaker (at the cables end) with a ohm meter, there is no continuity. So either the speaker is dead, or the cable, or one of the solders. Unfortunately the speaker seams glued (and strongly) to the base of the computer. I'll investigate that further later.
For other softwares, yes I am looking for more ITT specific softwares. Thanks for the links. I knew them and got no luck there (I searched before posting)
Beside that I'll keep testing early apple 2 softwares to make a small list of compatible ones.
Typically a speaker is mounted to the inside of the case facing out, so the solder lugs are accessible on the inside. You can clip your ohmmeter leads to the lugs to exclude the cable as a source of problems.
My experience is that when a speaker tests as an open, it is usually because the coil inside has broken.
