I have scanned the manual for the CCS7710:
CCS_ASYNC-SER-7710.pdf
The ccs7710 has the same proms for firmware as the ccs7720. It is highly likely that ccs used the same interfacing method on most of their early cards.

The hardware of the 7710 (serial), 7720 (parallel) and the 7811 (APU) is very similiar concerning the PROMs and even driving the functional chips (6850, 6821). Why not? :-) Even the layout seems to be similiar.
If you look at some boards i.e. from IBS it's the same. They also shared parts of their design with several products.
