Last month I decided to just go ahead and purchase a factory sealed Microsoft Softcard II System version 2.28B off of ebay at full asking price (approxiamtely $400 after tax and shipping). So now I have it in my den still sealed. I'm somewhat torn between opening it, or leaving it sealed. Nowadays, very few people collect anything that my generation deems as having value. So I'm leaning towards opening it, installing it, and using it like I did back in the early 1980's in my computer classes. Yet, it looks so cool being sealed.
Before I so anything, I'm interested in the opinion of others in this forum as to what they would do. And yes, I had the extra cash so that buying it made no difference to me even at the full asking price.
Thank you!
Joe
Buy another CP/M Z80 card that has been opened to use. It isn't like they are so rare you can't find them -- but rare to find one unopened. I have a Z80 card made by ALS, and another made by PCPI. Someone has been making new Z80 cards lately, I've seen them on eBay. The new ones I think are a lot faster.
The new ones are by GGLABS. It is currently OOS on eBay, but they may be making more. You can find more info here:

I already have a PCPI card installed. I just wanted what I had back in the days of my early programming classes. But thank you for your replies!
I'll look at those other cards as well.
Thank you!
Are you talking CP/M like with the Applied Engineering Z-RAM card in my Apple //c?
Yes, that's exactly what he is talking about.
