So I'm following this! I'm working on getting my old bbs back online. Notices you have tons of games on yours. Wonder if you would mind sharing?
Really want to go with METAL but I can't find a good copy or at least one that runs on my IIe. Works fine in a gs emulator but that brings a whole slew of modem issues so I think I'm gonna have to use ACOS.
I would be happy to share games from my BBS. One caveat though is most games have been modified to work on my board, so would require at least some modification to work on a different one (some games more than others). Also some will assume the Apple is running at 16 MHZ with the FastChip IIe with it's /RAM drive, CFFA3000 and 9600 baud, these games likely would run too slow on a regular Apple II.

Most excellent ! I figure there will be some tweaking involved. I'll hit you up over there when I'm a little further along with my project. I do have an account on your board.
thanks a zillion!
There's nothing like FIDO for Apple II BBS systems that I know of.
Nor is there any sort of server for doing the transfers.
It's pretty basic and old-school in Apple II BBS land.
I wish you a lot of luck getting it online.
Took me several months to work enough kinks out of GBBS/Darkfire to get mine functional.
And like almost every BBS it's a work in progress with at least some sort of code repair or modifictation / enhancement monthly, sometimes weekly.
Yes, and if you do find the secret to getting users interested in these old BBS games, let us know. :)
