I personally don't like where the smiley are now. It just doesnt look right and they aren't at all where you would expect.
Ok. Today I'm going to be working on the forums, so I'll shift them to above the message pane.
How's that?

just turned 'em off again
go and look at the "post a new topic" thingy

So they're now below the accepted HTML tags list - but without instructions on what to hit to bring them up short of dragging and dropping them into image tags.

Use javascript like the YABB forums do to make it possible to click them to add to the body of text.
Currently, you can mouse over them to see what they are.
Tom told me to "quit worrying about the smilies" so they're a lower priority right now

Whilst waiting for Ernest to fiddle with the article module (and maybe save me some work :P) I've made the smilies clickable. Please test the feature in your favourite browser.
}:) :O :? :jawdrop:
Yes, the one for adding an image looks goofy. It's just a placeholder.

there not clikcable yet....but theyre cool... i like the lego dude.
Not another one! And here was me thinking my rudimentary javascript knowledge had worked! I need a JS expert to write the code, really.

yup ... nothing is clickable in IE ... why dot you just nick the BBcode from YaBB :?
TOM
yeah, no smileys in ie for windoz either....
how about bringing back proper image linking ... i like to keep all my images i post in my server temp dir ... having image tags like yabb did would be much better for me (though keep the gallery ones aswell)
im sure it would also reduce AF server load aswell if the images were remotely hosted ...
TOM
found the problem ... your JS is fine but you forgot to include the *actual* script on the reply page ... the buttons work fine on the new topic page
so just add the script to the reply page and all will be well
