Powemac G3 wings AV card.

I was curious, I just bought a Macintosh G3 Wings card. Will this card work on a G3 AIO? As in connect to the CRT plug and AIO cable? I know my sentence may sound confusing. If you have info, please help.

well it depends, cause for al

well it depends, cause for all there was 2 main versions of the wings card. one is for the AIO, and one is for a non AIO.

the non AIO version lacks the AIO port and the RGB connecter below the AIO connecter, and will not work on the AIO. unless you install a Radeon PCI card and do a mod to make it hook to the internal monitor

then the AIO version will work in all versions of the Beige G3.

do you have a Pic of it. cause really that is the only way to tell if its the AIO or non AIO version.

looks right

The card in the photo on OldMacMilt's auction you were gianormously linking to looks identical to the one you'll find on the bottom of the page (scroll down) of the "Apple TV Tuner in a Beige G3" link that you'll find on this non-gianormous page link which powersurge9600 claims is from his AIO (How's that for a confusing sentence? Grammatically, it would be stating that the non-gianormous page link is found in his AIO, but I'm too lazy to figure out another way of saying it.). Hopefully, but possibly, OldMacMilt isn't just using a generic photo, so you might want to double check with him, or have you received it already? He's been a honest reliable seller to me in the past.

Yea i got a Apple PDS etherne

Yea i got a Apple PDS ethernet card for my Performa 475 from him. i would think he would know enough to put the proper Picture with the item that he is selling. altho i have seen people make mistakes before. but i would think that is the correct version.

remember tho this card works fully only in Mac OS 8.x/9.x, in OS X (it dont matter if its the supported version of OS X which is 10.2 - 10.2.8 or not) there is only basic functions support (no support for the built in mic, now the built in Mic will work if you plug a Mic into the external Mic jack), the volume button in the front dont work, the 2 front earphones do output sound but wont shut off the internal speakers, the RCA video in or our dont work, the S video in or out dont work. the only extras of the wings card that work in OS X are the RCA audio out , and maybe the RCA audio in.

i use my AIO as a TV in Mac OS 9.2.2 ( with a cable box to change channels with ) using the default Apple video player, or BTV pro ( BTV Pro is a program that allows you to record audio and video with the external ports with any codecs that you have installed for quicktime).

I asked

I asked him recently and he said yes. It works on the AIO. Also, I checked out another auction of his, he was selling the non G3 AIO wings card, and he had a clear picture of that. So I know now that the one I bought was the correct one. And do I need Mac OS 9.2.2 to get video input? Or can I use Mac OS 9.1?
