so i got this new laptop, HP DV2415nr, specs are as follows: AMD Turion 56 1.8ghz dual core, 1gb ram, 160gb hd. descent i guess.. the machine doesnt start to run all that bad untill i unplug the power, then even with power settings set to max performance, it just seems like the internet slows down. i dont know why really.... any vista tweakers out there? ive burnt my restore dvd's already so im ready to venture and try some things.

no go... i wonder if im doing something wrong?? or is it vista....
well i just solved all my problems... can you guess how?? i got rid of vista i found win xp drivers for an older model of this style and installed everything and it works like it was meant to be!!
I did the same on my
parent's new lappy. None of us could figure anything out on Vista, so we decided to get rid of it.
i just got really sick of it being so slow and just killing my machine. i find it pointless to stuff an OS like that on a laptop....
BTW, i have to say how much i love dual core cpu's. i can easily notice a difference between this and my desktop machine that used to seem fast to me. this doesnt even have a great video GPU but it runs games really well for what it is. im glad i didnt go out and spend 1200+ on a gaming laptop... this does great for my needs.
