Is a G3 Motherboard swap like this okay?

I am swapping a Blue and White g3 mother board Rev. 1 to a blue and white motherboard rev. 2. However I wanted to know if the Processor was interchangeable. Im sure everything else is but this I wasnt so sure? Will a rev 1 processor work in a Rev 2 motherboard?

The first Rev.1 B&W's came in

The first Rev.1 B&W's came in 300, 350, and 400mhz versions. The Rev.2 came in 350, 400, and 450mhz. The B&W's will not work with any of the slower ZIF's from the Beige G3's (233, 266mhz), but I'm not sure about the B&W 300mhz ZIF with a Rev.2 motherboard. Is that also compatible?

Make sure you have the appropriate motherboard jumper configuration for your ZIF. Just use the jumper block from the Rev.1 motherboard if the Rev. 2 had a different CPU speed previously. There's a little tab at one end of the plastic blue block to help tell which way is which, so remember which way is "up" when you remove the block. Here's the jumper configuration and clocking info:

Ah, unless they've been overc

Ah, unless they've been overclocked to 300mhz and above then. How do you figure out the jumper setting to do that? 66mhz bus to 100mhz bus.

This leads to a question I have. Is there anything similar to jumpers you have to do to swap different speed G4 processors between Quicksilvers? Or is that all handled on the processor board and it's just plug and play?

The G4 processor has resistor

The G4 processor has resistors, but depending on the bus speed of the motherboard you put it on, it will judge the frequency of the processor.

I am swapping a 350 MHZ proce

I am swapping a 350 MHZ processor so it sounds like I wont have any problems then. I am assuming the jumper settings are the same for both boards on processor/bus speed?

on a different note

My other g3 is a rev 2 with a 300 mhz processor. Of course I overclocked it to 350
