Hey all,
I have an interesting (maybe stupid) question. My friend has a Powerbook 867Mhz 12". Can this logic board be upgraded? It looks similar to the 1Ghz and 1.5Ghz powerbook models. I was just wondering because I love to tinker with this sort of thing. He's getting ready to sell it and I think I might buy it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!

Not without replacing other parts too. The 867 had a mini VGA port on the side instead of mini DVI, like the 1GHz-1.5GHz have.
Daystar G4 upgrades for powerbooks
Awesome that Daystar is still kicking and doing this... but it'd be much cooler if they also upgraded the onboard ram to a GB. Oh, yeah... it is pricy and hard to justify considering a new Mac Mini is just a little more.
But couldn't I just swap logic boards if I got one on lets say ebay? This could be fun.

The 867 has a different case than the 1GHz, 1.33GHz or 1.5GHz. There isn't any other board that will fit in there (see protocol6v's post above).
Look on eBay for a 1.0/1.33/1.5 ghz 12" that's got a cracked lcd, bad hard drive, and or bad optical drive. Swap your components over and there you go. All the parts you'll need, less hassle. (provided that there is no damage to the bottom case or dc-in board.
Thanks everyone! You really help each other out here. I really appreciate it!
