My favorite may have to be my PowerMac 5260/100 - it was my second Mac, and it was rock-solid. No easy task for it, especially since the machine came with about 20 MacAddict CD's with loads of shareware stuff on it...
Kyle-
Well...
My favorite Mac to date has been my old Centris 660AV; however, my favorite PowerBook has been my 540c, which for a long time was my near constant companion. I'm sure that once I rebuild my Tangerine iBook, it will go up, but for now, definitely those two.
The '02 iBook is my favorite, with the PowerBook 5300, and 3400 comming in second
PowerBook Duo 2300c (love the portability)
The original iMac (form meets function)
iMac G5 20" (whoa...)
(P.S. Drupal makes it a POS to pull off a lame joke. What the heck is with the bizarre default image resizing?)
my Beige G3 MT... currently hosting my iTunes collections that is piping music through my speakers here at work. It was at home, but the hard drive in my G3-ATX hack was dying so it was pressed into service.
If I had anything faster I would mention that one, but I don't.
that was a good one
i use my powerbook g3 for itunes right now i am reloading 9.2 so i can install 10.2.1 to fix the backlight issue i want to get a beige g3 they are cool
my favorite mac would have to be the power book g4.
Trinity (G4 Cube) and Sparticus (Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh) Too bad I don't own either of them...
but for what I have owned. I loved the 9600 that I had (350MHz) and the Pismo that I had before selling it to only1jellybeanz, and my Current iBook G4. I am also loving the Beige G3 AIO that I own and am working on as a project recently, but it's really only for it's overclockability. and for the expansions of CPU's that are cheap.
The Pismo and the 9600 were my dream machines. I hope to get a Cube sometime, and when the G5 Dual-core (quad-cpu's) get's to $10 in the way off future, I will have my next dream machine
yea apple are nice bu4t they cost to much for me so i go used i what to get a powerbook g4 someday and a g5 i like to case
It would be a toss up. I really like my Aluminum G4 PB. I use my 466MHz Clamshell alot too but my all time favorite is still my PowerComputing PowerTower Pro 250 with a G3 card, gobs of RAM and storage. It's been torn apart an built up easily a dozen times.
But nothing really compares to a couple of Big Macs......
I will have to say all of them but my most favorite is my UMax S900D. There is nothing like a SuperMac by UMax, better than a Big mac

if you want to mention a pc go head and say so
I think my favorite design wise are the TAM, g4 cube, and the new imac g5. Of the ones I've owned I think my g4 DA dual 533 is my favorite, although my new g5 is quite nice.
Would have to be my Rare Black Mac TV or my Powerbook 1400c/166mhz/48/1gig/cd
My favorite macs of all time are below
PowerBook 180 - the best of the 1xx series - good battery life and a crisp clear big screen.
SE/30 - there's something about the 1989 retro machine that's still incredibly useful even 16 years later
iMac G4 - it looked odd, but in every day use, this machine was a shining star.
Umax S900 - was just so easy to expand and cheap to do so with.
PowerBook G4 15" aluminum - everything the titaniums should have been - easier to work on, sturdier, despite not being as cool looking.
I see the Titanium PowerBook G4's as the Falling Water of Laptops. Falling Water was one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most stunning desings, trouble was that the house was not engineered to last long as a house. I love the look of the titanium PowerBooks, but after seeing how well they hold up in the field (am an Apple service tech), I wouldn't consider them to be good machines for use as portable computers.

my fav macs would have to be the se/30, the mac plus,my pb 1400, my pismo, the color classic, the performa 475, the 9600, the IIfx, and of course the power mac g5!
i have gont a lot i good input so thank you all so much
All my favorites are ones I currently own:
My iBook G4 (1.2 GHz) my baby!
My wife's iBook G3 (700 MHz)
My PowerBook G3 (400 MHz) Dr. Bob sez "Don't call it a 'Lombard'"
My Power Mac G3 (266 MHz -- upgraded & clocked to G4 375 MHz) "Gossamer" or "Beige"
My Macintosh LC III (25 MHz) still a rock solid little machine!
My Apple IIe (1 MHz) okay, not a Mac, but a great Apple!
No offense intended to my other 30+ Macs and my other 2 Apple II's
Favourite Macs I've owned:
Pismo: Almost perfect
Portable: Big and heavy but a very usable machine
SE/30: Classic shape with lots of power
PowerBook 5x0: Revolutionary at the time and still a nice machine to have
Others I like include the iMac G4, Mac Mini and the Duo 2300c. I also like Silicon Graphics machines.
Since I was a wee one I wanted a PowerBook 3400. Now I'm finally in a position to get one...a bit late, I'm afraid.
probably have to be my aluminum 12"(1ghz) ibook g4 12" (1.33ghz) my quicksilver (733mhz) and my lombard g4 550mhz.
I still love my first Mac the best, a 3rd-hand 512K purchased in 1989. I love the sound the 400K drive makes, all the more easily heard since there's no fan. The early MacOSes are so pure and simple, so far ahead of their time. The 512K is the quintessential Macintosh really.
My second fave to this day remains the PowerBook 170, they are a nearly perfect expression of Apple's industrial design ethic of the early 1990's. The screen is so crisp and lovely, the keyboard so nice, the trackball surpasses many input devices of today. Just an all-around computing design classic.

i have to say my fave Mac has to be my power macintosh G3 AIO (AKA Beige G3 AIO). It has its own look about it and i like it. even tho if i owned any other Mac i would still say my fave Mac is the beige G3 AIO
you know it took me a little while to get used to my AIO but now that ive used it for a while i like its look and feel more then the G4 i have. it boots quicker and doesnt seem to run so darn messed up. it also is the classic Beige color this is the computer i wish i had years and years ago.... i find myself not even using the Yikes machine....i bet that if i had a REAL g4 then it would be alot better and smoother... i had my PM 7300 and it was an ok machine but never seemed like it was working right.
I like the classics like my powerbook g3 wallstreet (the last apple powerbook to use the rainbow apple icon)and my porforma 200 I want to get a beige (new apples cost to much for me)
I'd have to say:
My original 128k. Every once in a great while- i fire it up and play around with mac paint.
Oddly enough, it is by far the fastest loading mac i have ever owned. It boots in less than half of the time my dual 2.3 G5 takes. It is also the only mac I have ever had a virus on (CDEF virus- got it back in 87-89 sometime). It is also the quietest mac i have ever owner (air cooled- no fans- the floppy dirve is loud though...oh well)
My second favorite is the Mac IIci. Holy blazes whas that beast FAST (at the time)...i wish i still had the game Crystal Quest though....
I have had a lot of other macs since then.. Mac SE, Quadra 610, 800, 840av, 950, 7200, G3 Desktop, G3 all-in-one, G3 MT, imac (a bunch of those in various colors), G4's, G5, PB 520c, 1400, Lombard, Onyx...
I wish i had a MacTV- those were pretty cool.....
CRYSTAL QUEST!!!!!
I remember that game! Does anyone have it?
Mmm, I got that from school a few years ago... really like that game! I still have it on my 475 (? maybe, I dunno, one of my machines.)
Kyle-
- iMac G5 (current primary machine)
- iMac G4 (previous primary machine, no longer own)
- Color Classic (have owned many, currently own two custom modded ones)
- Quadra 700 (have owned many, currently own one with a Q800 mobo in it)
- Any post-clamshell iBook (own a G3/500, love these things)
- Powerbook 180 (my first laptop, an absolute bulletproof tank)
My all-time favorite would have to be the iMac G4. My iMac G5 is superior in every way (except it's a little noisier in the summer), but I just have a real soft spot for the first flat-panel iMac - it was almost... human!
Matt
anyone have shuffle puck cafe` ??
Favorite G3
Power Macintosh G3 AIO - The things are quirkier than hell, but the are also so versitile, If it wern't for pure speed of my iMac G3, I would use nothing but my AIO.
Favorite PowerPC
PowerComputing PowerBase - Had I experienced a 9/8600, I would have probably chosen that, but my PowerBase still continues to amaze me. The x500 PowerMacs come in for an extremely close second. a 5500 was my first experience with a modern computer.
Favorite 68k
PowerBook Duo 280c - This was a fast little devil. It amazed me with it's ability to play mp3s. It was not until I received a 2300 board that I realized its power. The same laptop with the new board, lags and butchers mp3 unlike it's 68k counterpart.
Thank you everybody for your feedback. I am new to this sight and its formatting, so try to im sorry if stuff is confusing.

I was new when i posted this on applefritter so I can see where
you are comeing from
I've owned about 45 Macs in the past 5 years, but there are a few that have stuck out as spectacular in my mind:.
iBook G4 1.33Ghz: I bought this in June 2005 and I haven't had a hitch since. I think OS X needs to be reinstalled, but that's about it.
Quicksilver (733Mhz): I bought this machine used from a client of mine in August 2005, thus completing my "switching" to Macintosh. A rock-solid performer, with 1.5GB RAM and 300GB of HD, she runs Tiger like a champ.
Powerbook 1400c (250Mhz G3, 64MB RAM, 6GB HD). My favourite OS 9 machine ever. Weighing in at around 7lbs means there's a lot of girth to this old girl. I've never had a more solid-feeling laptop. My current iBook is a nice machine with good fit-and-finish, but there's no comparison between it and the old-school iron of the mid-90's Powerbooks.
Cheers,
The Czar
my other fav would be my se/30
From a nostalgia standpoint, my first Mac - a 512Ke. Currently have a G4 tower operating on OS 9.2.2 & 10.3.9.
Cheers, Tom

SE/30 -- terrific little machine and still a whole lot of fun to use.
Performa 580 -- my first Mac
Powerbook 1400 -- Perhaps the best keyboard ever on a Powerbook. Compact, expandable, stylish... still using one today.
Powerbook 5300 -- Loved the look and size of this one. Shame that it was so hampered by troubles and design compromises.
i like the G4 power macs i love the case on those
