Just replaced a screen on a PB Mercury Ti (400 mhz G4).
The repair went fine, however when I booted up the machine the screen is a washed out greenish blue color. You can see everything as it should be except it is all washed out due to the aforementioned problem.
I tried reseting the PRAM and the NVRAM, but that didn't help. When I attach it to and external monitor, the picture is fine.
I am beginning to think that the lcd itself is bad or the lcd cable is bad.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve Krug
But we've all done this before. Did u check the cable to make sure it was seated correctly?
check for cable connections, both on the LCD side and the mobo side. If it's not a bad connection, or a bad cable, you might be lucky in finding it's a bad inverterr, if it's not one of those things, you may have a bad LCD. Good luck!
That's my next move. I have to rip it apart again to see if the connections are okay.
Thanks,
Steve Krug
How would I check for a bad inverter? If that was the case wouldn't it also have bad video on an external monitor?
Thanks,
Steve Krug
i have one, just pay $5 and s/h from 68132 in the USA
Have replaced the cable from the logic board to the lcd and still have the same problem. Does anyone know how to test to see if it's the inverter board that's going bad?
Thanks,

all i can think of would be the onverter or the connector on the lcd or the logic board
