i dont know weather this is in the right forum, but in two years it will be the thirtieth anniversary for apple, i wonder what their new aniversary mac will be. I'm kinda hoping it will come in a Mac plus-ish, since the plus was their longest lived model, looking case, with a 9" lcd, and a G4 or G5 processor. What do you think?

Flat panel Mac Plus anyone?
Quick- where's my Photoshop?
macintosh iPlus. yeah
I love this idea!
Apple was founded in 1976. so 30th anniversary would be next year.
I don't think something like the tinh above will happen... nothing happened for the Mac's 20th Anniversary in 2004 either.
If anyone has a dead mac plus or gutted mac plus case, let me know, I'd like to build that iPlus.

krest, see this

the twentieth anniversary mac
I know what the TAM is, and I know that it was released '97, but:
"Although officially produced in celebration of the Twentieth Anniversary of Apple, the 20th Anniversary Mac was released close to a year after the fact, in late Spring, 1997."

well in my post i just ment the anniversary of the company not the macintosh itself
So di I.
Apple Computer: April 1st, 1976
Macintosh: January 24th, 1984
I am guessing that apple may release an iMac type machine with maybe an HDTV Tuner and Radio. Also, maybe Blu-Ray Burner (They have already joined the Alliance) and maybe a dock built-in for quick docking of the iPod. They might also have a special iPod and software to go with it.
OR,
Maybe Apple will yet again amaze us with a PDA again. Or perhaps a special Piece of HW that noone has ever seen before (Like they always have done)
Most likely, it will feature a top o' the line P4 or 64-bit dually Intel (I hope they don't make the mistake of the 20th Ann. With the dinkey 603e CPU and a sub-standard bus)
then again, they may not do one thing about it. Job's really didn't care about the 20th of the Mac, as there was nothing special released in '04
And I hope they don't price it at $10.000 like they did with the TAM
I thought it was ridiculously over priced but I thought again nine months after the announcement when I was offered a new one for about $2000 US. Alas I declined because I am now in love with the machine. I suspect that if I buy one (which must be working, boxed, in the EU) I will pay more than for any other computer (so far in my life). And that includes my Lisa 1. Honest, no joking.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I will eat my hat if Apple ever makes a Mac with a built-in radio again. I'm not even seeing the built-in HD tuner, either, because of Steve's TV-Computer seperation thing. but it would be nice.
As for the 20th anniversary Mac (which would have been out in 2004), I would say it is the iMac G5. It was never officially touted as such, but the connection to 1997's TAM is undeniable.
