Is it possible to provide a sortable list of registered users on the AF?
I am envisioning a link to a listing of all user names and the IP address, last date posted, and online/offline status.
The goal here is to provide a way for us to browse the list of members, see when the last posted something (have they been AWOL?) and are there any similar names that other users have.
The member list over in the barracks is a good example. Obviously there is no rank, so the last post date would be good. Add to this the ability to sort by the different columns.
There is a strong interest in being able to identify and track who a user may be when a deal is going bad, or for someone trying to determine the legitimacy of a user's intnet to deal. Having a searchable member list would give us the ability to identify newbies trying to emulate an existing members name.
It is not much , but it is a start and builds upon the helpful details you already provide, like 'Member since' thing.
Just a thought...

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...no
You can see the list of a member's posts by clicking on their username and then the "track" link. Online/offline would be a nice feature, and probably very easy to implement. Giving out ip addresses isn't going to happen.
I figured the IP thing was a stretch, but hey...
What I mean by the member list is a comprehensive list of who is a part of AF. Right now, the only way I have to look for a member is to google their name or look for a post I know they contributed to. The closest thing we have is the 'Who' new' and 'Who's online' snipets off to the left. I would like to see 'Who's registered' and not have to sctrach my brain to remeber the user name as some of us incorporate spaces, or ommit them, or use underscores and sometime nemonics that trip up the memory.
Actually that would be cool. Just not the whole IP thing, thats not cool
Username, last date posted, online/offline status?
Do we want any other data included?

It would be nice to see other users email addresses. Of course, this would be an option that I think should be set to "no" by default.
How searchable does this need to be? How should it be organized?
I need to write some code and this seems like as good an opportunity as any. Suggestions given in the next couple hours will be taken into consideration.
Look at the members page on the old forum... something that replicates that would be brilliant

I'm going to have to agree with Tom on this one.
Absolutely not. That's an egregious violation of privacy, and would be asking spammers to grab addresses. If you want to contact a user, click on their profile and send them a PM.
And as I said, It should be an option that is set to "no" by default. That way, a user can make the decision whether or not to opt in. If you recall, addresses could be displayed in the old apple fritter.
PM's are great and all, but without any kind of notifacation, I often don't even notice new ones I've gotten unless I am expecting one.
I also think it would be great to see the number of posts a user has made.
