Hi All,
Just wondering if these had a fan inside them?
And if not, would adding a fam to blow air out up the top extend its life?
Thanks

No fan in mine. It died a slow and painful death a few months ago. It is the same monitor as the ColorSync 750 and that is what I am using now. The ColorSync has a much better picture, but for some reason is not as bright as the AppleVision. As far as adding a fan, I'm sure it wouldn't be bad for it, but I never tried it so I could not say if it would add any life.
How did your monitor die?
Mine is beginning to flicker every so often. Its time is close!
Oh as for the brightness, connect it up to the a pre OS X mac which has ADB and hit recalibrate in Monitors and Sound control panel...
Mine would stop coming on sometimes. It would fade from bright to dim and eventually just stayed dim. It then would only turn on about 1/4 of the time. Right now it still "works" but I no longer use it. Don't recall flickering.
Seems to be the way they all die. Compaq v410 & two Macintosh Colour Displays. I wish they'd just DIE so I wouldn't keep hoping that one day they'd work properly again...
