Matrox Mystique

I have a Matrox Millenium II PCI 64-bit 4MB. It has both a vga HD15 port on it & a DB25 connector like a mac monitor port on it. Does anyone know if this will work in a 4400/200 *as-is*?

If you've got the Matrox and you've got the 4400, TRY IT. You won't break the computer or anything. If it doesn't work, you'll have to flash it. IIRC, some Matrox cards came with dual-firmware for x86 PCs/Macs and Sun workstations. Good luck!

re: Matrox Mystique

The Matrox Millenium cards were available with a Mac ROM, so if you've got one of those it'll just work. Otherwise if it's got a wintel ROM you'll have to flash it to Mac.

IIRC the 25-pin port is for a wintel-only video dongle thingy, but I'm not really sure. I don't think it's a Mac video port though. Be careful about hooking up a Mac display to that port until you know more, it's sure possible to blow up a card it it's NOT a Mac video port.

Not sure if all the PC versio

Not sure if all the PC version matrox have a large enough flash rom to accommodate the mac bios. You could end up with an unusable & unflashable card (probably no huge disaster, given it's age) unless you do your research first.

If it is the Mac version, you'll use the VGA plug any way. The DB-15 in the card is *NOT* a Mac video port.
