Here's what I'm looking for: TFTP (Trivial FTP) server software for Macintosh.
I'm getting really anxious to play with my dust collecting SGI Indy. Unfortunately, the only way I can think of to install an OS on the little guy, is to setup a TFTP server and install IRIX from there.
What are my options?
I could install Linux on one of my Macs and setup a TFTP server that way, but that would be more hassle than I'm willing to endure. Besides, I do not have a Mac currently available that I can install Linux on.
(b) I could install Linux on my PC and setup a TFTP server that way, but that would be virtually impossible. My PC is an old Pentium 1 based machine that is, for all intents and purposes, a total piece of crap. Read: has only 300MB hard drive and 64MB RAM - 75MHz Pentium processor. Yuck! Let the PC continue to collect dust until I can find a better use for the case and power supply. 
(c) Find some TFTP server software that will run under Mac Classic OS. Does such software exist? I haven't been able to find any.
Help? Please?
Until recently I ran all my home network services off a similar machine, and it did just fine and dandy, thank you. (DHCP, DNS, NFS, Samba, Netatalk, SSH, TFTP... between RARP, BOOTP, and DHCP+PXEBOOT said machine hosted netinstalls of NetBSD sparc, sparc64, and PPC, Slackware Linux x86, FreeBSD x86, and Debian MIPs.) It had a hard disk somewhat larger then 300MB, however. ;^>
You'll need NFS for the rest of the install anyway (tftp is only used for getting a bootloader, kernel, and miniroot on every netinstall I've ever done), so I suspect you're *really* out of luck trying to host this on classic MacOS. Unless IRIX supports installing off an FTP server, which I sort of doubt.
