For sale or trade: RAM

I know I previously had a topic about this, but I can't seem to find it to append to it.

I have at least 160MB of 72-pin RAM for sale, which includes 6 modules of unknown sizes. All of these modules worked at one point, but I have no way of testing these now.

I also have 2 sets of 4 30-pin RAM, of which I don't know the size of. I know that 1 set has 9 RAM chips on each board, while the other set only has 2 RAM chips on the board.

I would be willing to split up the 30 and 72 pin units apart, but they can also be shipped together to one person.

I will entertain any reasonable offer, but would also trade all of them for a 256MB PC133 module, a Duo 270c/280c, or an external DVD-RAM drive. Shipping will be the actual shipping from 23072 and about 1 pound.

What would you...

What would you estimate 72 and 30 pin simms to be worth these days? I have some 30 pin and 72 pin simms I'm attempting to unload myself but there doesn't appear to be much interest.

While looking through my Memory, I found that I have 8 72-pin simms that seem rather odd. They are double sided simms (chips on both sides), but there are ten (10) chips on each side for a total of twenty (20) chips per simm. They have gold edge connectors and the little slot seems to be much shorter than your typical 72 pin simms. The short slot makes it very difficult for these simms to snap into place in regular 72-pin simm slots.

They actually came with my SGI Indy but there's no way in the world that these simms will fit in the Indy's simm slots. I tried putting them in an old PC motherboard that has 72-pin simm slots, but they wouldn't fit in there either.

It's a crazy world! I think I have some funky crappy simms that will only fit in some really obscure contraption that was built by God knows who and sold to only two people that live in some God-forsaken third world country that generates electricity by jumping up and down and screaming "K106.3 Rocks!"

I actually have no idea what

I actually have no idea what they are worth at all, but I can only guess by ebay prices. As far as those go, they could be one of the million little variants of EDO, or they could even be RAM for the framebuffer.

Not having the SIMMs that you describe in front of me, I can only offer the possibility that these are the 16MB variant of the IIfx's PAL RAM, with the PeeCee world's parity chip as well as the PAL chip. The fly in the ointment of that speculation is that the IIfx takes 64-pin cards, and my speculation is bunkum if the number '72' appears at one end of your cards instead of '64'.

Your speculation is "bunkum" as the number 72 does indeed appear at the end of the edge connector.

I'd guess that they may be SO

I'd guess that they may be SO-SIMMs, but it's been a while since I looked inside of any of my old laptops of that era.
