I know some of the MP's could do basic web browsing and email. This one? It's got NOS 2.0 I believe...I think most of the info says no to the internet. Any Ideas?? I really wanna start messing with it.
I put this topic in here for because I don't know where else to put it.
rock on
I think if you buy a modem you can do faxing and such. I got a CD off of ebay for a few bucks that is loaded with Newton software for my MP 100. Books, Games, all kinds of stuff. There is also a lot of Newton stuff online for free download. Thats the quickest way to get stuff.
Well I was hopeing to use some sort of network adapter...not a modem. Some sort of PCMCIA card?
You can check Here for a list of ethernet cards that will work with the Newton.
You'll need to install PCMCIA drivers as per the link above, as well as the Newton Internet Enabler packages.
To give you an idea of what the Newton can do, you can look to see what software is available for it - check www.unna.org.
Doesn't seem like a 120 be able to do it....hrmmm. Ideas?
You *might* be able to connect through localtalk to the internet, you could set up an old mac with IPNetRouter and connect to it with the newt, gaining internet access. If not you could set up a linux box and run a ppp or slip server to connect to with a serial cable. it'd be slow, but you'd get it online. (I think you'd be able to use Endora on a 120, maybe even NetHopper)
