I am about to buy a new video card for my Quicksilver G4 off of ebay and what should I get. ATI or nVidia?

in my QS where it's near-as-dammit as fast as my expensive Mac GF4 Ti. It now resides in a Sawtooth, it's much faster than its 400MHz CPU . . .
I've not had an R8500 so can't comment. However, IIRC the R8500 can run dual heads(?) where the GF3 cannot. Also, flashed GF3s can have problems with (real) sleep, not a problem if you don't.
Best case - buy one of each and try 'em, then sell off the one you like less.

Never mind, I got a GeForce 4 TI with 128 megs of ram.
Ahh, kind of late now. Was gona say you should have gone ATI. Since you then have real support and the ATI Displays control panel. Which gives you full overrides for any 3d OpenGL apps, versa vision, tv out, etc.
