i received a clamshell notebook for free, but the lcd is broken. any suggestions on whether or not to fix it? i found the screen at www.pbmedic.com for 200... the keyboard is also missing it's Apple key. if i were to upgrade it, the ram would be 70 for 256MB, and the harddrvie would be 125 for 30GB. roughly 395, which is the same price as the macmini by itself.

try Ebay for the parts than fix it
the problem is that i can't find the parts.... i'm not apple savvy so for me to find a site that has the parts is most of the battle.
Well you could seel it and skip all the work on ebay
I used to fix PowerBooks for a living.
Take it from me, it`s not worth your time or effort.
I suggest you send a message to "astro_rob" (on this web site); he has a clamshell iBook that he needs parts for, and he is in a bad financial situation. If you want to be a kind person, send him your busted iBook for the cost of shipping it to him. It will be good for your karma. Plus, maybe he has something he would trade for with you.
