I have a homebuilt PC with XP, a 900Mhz Duron, 384MB of Ram, and a new 80GB Seagate drive, and an ATI All-in-Wonder Pro (PCI, pretty old). I downloaded the drivers for the card, and ATI multimedia center 7.2 and was able to watch TV and capture full frame at my friends house. I moved the computer back to my house, and now when I try to capture, about 40% of the frames get dropped when I try to capture, even I go to the lowest quality setting (which I wasn't on at his house). So my questions are,
A, what could possibly have caused this? No software was installed between his house and my house.
B, is there an alternate video capture program I could use?
Thanks.
Just a little update:
I think it is a hard drive issue, because when I open the task manager, it only shows that about 30% of the processor is being used to encode the video. And after the first few seconds of recording, it stops at dropping exactly 40% of the frames until you stop. I had the 40% issue using STOIK capturer, a freeware program I found on versiontracker.
