I have a Mac that is comprised of a 7200 case and power supply, an 8500 logic board, and a 7600 daughtercard and drives. It's running MacOS 9.1.
I was curious about how much memory was installed so I started System Profiler. It's reporting the speed as 185mhz. I know it's a 180mhz daughter card, so I'm guessing that it does not know what it's talking about.
Is this normal?
Actually i think that is the same speed taht the 7500 that i gave my freind was reported as. It also is a 180mhz cpu but i think that the system profiler reported it as a 185mhz.
I woudn't worry about it. Most cpus are off by a certain amount in reality.
What is the multiplier? If the system bus is off by 1MHz or so, then it would show up pretty quick on the CPU speed. Most I've seen are within 3MHz of 'spec' at the CPU.
