I cannot connect to applefritter.com from my house. Is it possible that my IP number is banned? If so, why? and how can I get the ban removed? It is quite annoying.

I haven't been able to for months. For this site, and one other that I know of, I've got to use an anonymous proxy. Or post from work.;)
Haven't figured out where the problem is. I've used a different router, five different computers - both Mac and PC - with no luck.
I thought there might be a ban on certain Sympatico domains (my ISP) but my nephew in the same town and ISP can access AF.
Oddly, I discovered yesterday that my new Newton can access Applefritter through the same home connection.
Perhaps if we knew what your IP address was, that could aid in looking for it.

The IP nr from which i cannot connect to the 'fritter is 84.238.28.60. Obviously (hopefully
) I am posting this from another IP (the home away from home or school as they like to call it).
Ok, running through the Drupal docs, it doesn't look possible to ban by IP. Possibly something on the server itself?
On the offchance that I misread, I queried every table with a 'hostname' (IP address) entry that I wasn't 100% sure of, and it gave me no results. Doesn't look like it's Drupals fault.

I'd assumed any IP range blocking would be higher up the line, say - at Digital Forest.
ISPs will sometimes block a range of IPs, or a domain - in my case Sympatico - if they've received spam from that range. It's a lot quicker than hunting down a specific individual or IP...let the offender's ISP sort it out if they want any of their customers to have access.
In my case, I figured it's a range of IPs that's blocked - somewhere - because my IP is dynamic, though it appears to be in a set range 69.xx.xx.xx to 70.xx.xx.xx. The anon. proxy I use is 170.xx.xx.xx.
Yeah, it's the only logical solution. What ISP's do both of you use?
...is my ISP. According to 'Shields up!' my IP is associated with this 'reverse IP':
ottawa-hse-ppp4085923.sympatico.ca
My ISP is a small local one called Bolignet Århus (http://www.bolignet-aarhus.dk/). I believe that they have recently changed our IP addresses, and i think that was when my problems started.
Here are the last couple of lines from a tracroute to applefritter.com and macslash.com (also hosted by digital.forest)
Hope this helps.
Looks like it's probably the digital forest firewall. Something that Tom Owad would have to talk to them about. I'll email him, though I'm sure he's seen this thread.
