Colo(u)r Classic Badges

Were there only 2 different versions of the badges or were the badges localized with different languages.

I'd like to mod the CC to have several badges in different languages on the front.

Anybody know for sure?

How do you define 'sure'? ;-)

I have 3 CC badges:

One model is the correct 'Colour Classic'. Wink

Another has the 'u' removed for some reason. Wink

Another says 'Performa 250'.

I don't think there were badges in other languages, but it's hard to prove that something didn't exist. OTOH, AFAIK, Quadras were quadras, LCs were LCs, so I don't expect there were 'Coleur Classiques' etc etc

Badges? I want some steenkin badges...

Nothing in Japanese? I wonder why they never localized the badges...
Seeing the international love for the CC, I thought it might be neat to have different badges.
I might look at doing decals rather than hacking a case.

Thanks.

Truly it is. 'Classique en Couleurs', 'Farbenklassik', 'Computer Classico a Colori', &c. As for the missing 'u', Apple has subsequently acknowledged that it was a temporary oversight in quality control by the sub-contractor who made the press-in badges ...

I wonder if there is there anyway to fabricate new badges by recycling old ones by removing the writing...

That's a good idea. The badges aren't too difficult to remove, and the original printing should scrape or sand off.

New text could be printed on decal paper, like I did with the Quadra 7100:

Which font is that? I know that I should it, but it escapes me right now.

I think it's the font: Apple Garamond, but I know at some point in time I had trouble finding or printing that font, so it may just be a Garamond that I condensed to look more like Apple's version.

Gaah, looking at it again, I should have played with the kerning a bit more...
