yeah it works ... but it kind of sucks ...
TOM
actually this really sucks ... you cant even put things onto new lines in a post ... it all gets run into one >:(
and it sucks that you cant post without previewing aswell
TOM
aaargh this is terrible ... it does strange things with the replys ... they dont seeem to flow in a logical order
TOM
Set "Comment Viewing Optons" to "Flat list, expanded", "Oldest First".
}:) :O :? :jawdrop:
These smileys can easily be changed and new ones created. In fact, we can very easily replace any string of text with any image.
This is definately going to take some getting used to. Luckily there's lots of time to get used to it, but so far I like the old format better.
It doesn't work quite so well right now. (embarrassed)
I'm working on it.

Huh? you hit reply, you get to preview it, and then you post it. You want a new line you hit return.
Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defence.
yeah ... return wasnt working for me before ...
this should be on a new line
also ... how about having the smilies from YaBB ... i like those better
TOM
edit ... it seems return still isnt working for me ... hmm
"Threaded list" actually makes sense, once you get used to it... since there's no quote boxes.
}:)

iMac/OS 8.6/IE 5.1.7 ...
it should work fine (i.e no problems in any other form ;)) ...
TOM
Oh God this sucks
Posting from 6500/OS 9/IE 5.0
Doesn't seem to be any problems in getting a line break here. Possibly a software specific gremlin on your machine? I don't have anything that can access the 'net running anything less than 9.0 so I can't test my theory of it being something to do with OS 8.6

This will take some time.
No avatars? No signatures?
THIS SUCKS.
It doesn't really seem like this software was designed for forum use. I like it but the thread formatting isn't too great. Still readable and all but pretty featureless.
1) Avatars haven't been turned on yet! Someone with better knowledge of PHP than myself needs to do this.
2) If you've set a signature in your profile then one will appear when you reply to a message. Personally I like the option of not including a signature - or editing it on a post-by-post basis...

I can see there are a lot of quirks to work out, so I'll try to be as patient as possible.
This Drupal has great potential, but all the new stuff is gonna take some time to get acclimated to, for everyone.
Note: First Af 2.0b Post. (relatively painless)

Trying a single line break here
Trying a double line break here
This is a test of a theory... And it rings true. To get stuff on a new line you have to put in a double line feed. Then you end up with a blank line in the middle of everything.

Yeah, I came to that conclusion yesterday after I found out that we can use wiki markup in our posts (which I like!)
From Wikipedia:
A single newline has no effect on the layout.
These can be used to separate sentences within a paragraph.
Some editors find that this aids editingand improves the ''diff'' function.
But an empty line starts a new paragraph.
Alternatively you can use <br> tags to break lines.

ok ...
lets test this (there are two blank lines between the "ok" and this text)
hmm ... its working now ... strange
TOM
and it seems all my previous posts are fine too ... very strange ... oh well
TOM
I Like this new layout! I don't think that it sucks at all, It just needs a bit of getting used to!

Whats with the "moderate comments" menu? Why is it on every post, and why doesn't it do anyting? And why isnt' there a place for Newton discussion? And why are we all posting everything in the "Hacks" section?
Logan Tong
I like it so far. I think we need a couple of better templates, probably. The default one makes it a bit hard to differentiate between posts and such. The unconed theme is better for differentiation, but it isn't very Applefritter-ish.

Arrrr...this is horrid. The scheme is giving me a headache. It is a hard to read, hard to see and there a frikin boxes everywhere. Keep the old forum design.
Oh yick....
iMac266 (Strawberry), G3 1400 and the G3 IIsi. I want a Tortoise...
Bleh... this sucks!
Could you PLEASE use better forum software? Pretty please? With sugar on top? With a few code hacks phpBB and Drupal can share the same database...

I have grande plans to write a new forum module that looks like YaBB. Unfortunatley, I'm back at school.
We shall see.
