someone online to help with ipod?

is there someone willing to chat with me and talk me through my ipod problem?

i formatted it for pc to dl my music library. everything was golden. then last night i jacked into my friend's mac laptop and dl'd more music. the mac recognized my ipod (name, music already there, etc). now, back at the work pc, and the pc won't recognize my ipod. it calls it a generic drive name, doesn't see any of the music that's there, and won't let me transfer music to it.

it would seem that inadvertantly reformatted to mac when i jacked into my friend's mac.

is a restore (and loss of the four gigs i just put on it last night) my only option?
