this would be my first mac
i am not sure of buying my self a b&W 4pci slot version!!anybody knows if
1.can i put standard most common (pc) pci cards (with 33mhz,32bit 5v) on the 3 pci long slots of the b&W board?
2.i also need to know if those 3 long slots are 3.3V or 5v?
3.will i have to reverse the pc pci cards to make them fit physically on the 3 long slots?cuz if you note the structure
of the B&W long slot is like a reversed and extended standard pci slot!!
They are stadnard PCi slots, only they are 64 bit slots rather then 32 bit, with the exception of the #1 slot, which is a 66MHz PCI slot for use with a video card. The 64 bit slots will accept a standard 32bit PCI card with no problems. So long as the card has mac drivers, it will work.

The longer slots are all standard 64bit 32MHz slots. Only the #1 slot is 66MHz, and its 32bit. Both should be standard 5V slots afaik, they are not reversed.
so i guess i'll be buying a g3 B&W motherboard on ebay and start "building" my mac
home theatre tv system!!i will put some dvb pci cards into it,thats why i asked!!!by the way

i had always been a fan of M$ based pceez!!mac computers are really messy!!but i still wanna try one!! i'm curius to have a mac.....so i'll just try to buy a biege g3 motherboard on ebay...true its older but at
least it have much compatibilty with damn normal hardware....just like intel based boards!!just like good ool' M$ based machines

Im not quite sure how you are thinking they are reversed from that page. The picture at the bottom clearly shows the 3 x 33MHz slots are exactly the same as a standard 32bit slot but with some extra pins for the 64bit option. Normal PCI cards should work fine in the B&W G3!

I hate to put it so bluntly, but... I'm not sure what crack you're smoking.

Ignore the 64 bit extension for a moment, and it's actually *real* simple. If you're looking at a 32 bit PCI slot (the normal short ones), if the "tooth" is towards the front of the computer it's 5 volt, if it's towards the back it's 3.3v. That's it. The B&W has three 5v slots that happen to have 64 bit extensions, and one 66Mhz 3.3v slot. (The 66Mhz slot is intended for use with a video card.)
Pick up a PCI card now, and look at it. If the "tooth" in the connector is on the side away from the bracket, it'll work in the B&W, at least electrically. Likewise, it'll also work if there are two "teeth". (Quite a few PCI cards are "Universal", and will work in either 3.3v or 5v slots.) Of course, if there are no drivers for the card in question it's sort of acedemic whether it works electrically, but that's beyond the scope of this discussion.
Finally, if the "tooth" is on the side towards the bracket, it won't work in a B&W expansion slot. "Reversing" the PCI card and jamming it in will just break the slot. (And fry the card *and* the motherboard, assuming you manage to get it in there and power up the machine.)

That's a plain-vanilla BX-chipset based Pentium III motherboard sitting next to it. Now look: See how the notches are the same on the PIII's PCI slots, and the 32 bit sections of the B&W's slots? QED. The same cards will work in either.)
If you're having trouble understanding this, you may want to reconsider your plans for building a computer based on an unfamiliar platform from scratch.

Actually, that whole relay was designed for a peltier + watercooled overclocked AMD athlon PC.
It was case light and transistor relay merged, that would start a slave ATX psu when the PC turned on, so that the peltier and watercooler were powered.
It did its job, by lighting up the PC case and allowing the AMD chip to be cooled to sub-zero temps at full load, with a 350W peltier.
Oh, and I still want some of that crack..
