I got this 8-inch floppy drive from a junkyard. it seems to work with the disks it came with. the model number is 901Y 002, or 39302, i am not sure it seems to say both. the disks it came with say IBM 3880 Maintenance Device. The drive has an external keypad with an LED display. It also has 3 adapter type things labelled wrap plug, but they are all different. It has two paralell ports (male and female) named DTE and DCE respectively. there are also 3connectors on the top, S Loop, R Loop, and PIO. on the side there is also a 3/4 inch (2 cm) circular connector with 24 connectors inside.
I will post pics soon. any help in identifying this is greatly apreciated.
PS my friend has an idetical machine w/out the adaptors and more disks.
PPS the disks have dates from the early 1980's. the entire thing is housed in a largish black plastic suitcase.

IBM 8-inch Floppy
forgot... searching google comes up with nothing except for a 3880 hard drive array... this could be a device for it, I don't know.
