Hey there, I was just asked by one of my teachers this afternoon if I wanted a couple of nice speakers and possibly a receiver out of an old Isuzu he has. Of course I said yes, and am planning on going to his house tomorrow to take them out of the car. However, removing speakers from door panels and receivers, subwoofer, etc. is something I've never done before. If someone could give be basic instructions about removing the speakers in the doors, removing the subwoofer box (how is it attached to the floor?) removing the receiver (does it just slide out of the dashboard?), etc., I'd be very grateful.
PS-It's a '91 Isuzu Rodeo if that makes any difference, and all of the components are aftermarket.
Well, despite getting no feedback here (
), I was able to sucessfuly remove all of the components, which includes:
A 10" Kicker Solo-Baric Subwoofer in a box (EDIT: Make that a 12")
A Kenwood CD Head Unit
A Kenwood 4-Channel Amp (KAC-846)
2 Polk Crossovers
2 Pioneer Mid Range Speakers (TS-M101's)
2 Cheap Generic Speakers from the rear
And various cabling
I can't believe he let me keep all of it. He's the coolest teacher ever!
I have an 8" solobaric. What an amazing driver. Just throw lots of power at it.
Yeah, I had read your Audi's Stereo page just a few days before he asked me coincidentally. I think that if I do end up putting this in my first car, I'm going to want a subwoofer amp, and you said not to take the cheap route. But is $250-300 taking the cheap route? I went to BestBuy.com and was a little freaked out when I saw sub amps going for 500 or 600 bucks.
Well it depends on how much power you want to put out. My sub amp was $350 and puts out 120 watts. More than enough, and certainly not cheap.
