Serial ATA (Native XP Support?)

Will Windows XP support SATA drives out of the box? I'm building a PC and to save space on my IDE/ATA cables I want to use a serial ATA hard drive. If I use only a SATA drive will windows recognize it when I first boot up my machine post assemly and install windows on it?

Thanks

Sata drives are invisible to

Sata drives are invisible to windows xp. XP will act totally normal only faster.

One nice thing about the mothterboard that i have at my work is that i can choose whichever ide port to boot from incase i have multiple drives with multiple operating systems on them. So with the sata ports, that gives me a total of 6 onboard ide drive ports that i could have on my system without the need for an external ide card.
