It's idiotic but I need to know

I'm not even sure which subforum this is supposed to go in, but... I just bought a Mac SE/30 for about 10 bucks Biggrin but I'm a PC user to the core and I don't know what I'm doing after I flip the se/30 on. There's a little blinking floppy disk icon and when you insert a disk it ejects it and the disk icon has a little X on it temporarily instead of a question mark. What am I supposed to do? What needs to be on the disk I insert?

You Need a Disk With the MacOS System Software

An SE 30, Id Recommend Starting With System Software Version 6.0.8, then see how much ram you have then go from there. Go to www.applemachome.com, The Gamba site is mirrored there and will have everything you need to get a macintosh system running

PUMP IT UP

Well to pump this machine up you can put up to 128MB of ram in it (Rather amazing for a comp made in 1989.). But to do this you have to download a app called mode32 from apple here somewhere http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html . If you could find a Micron Xceed video card you could surf the net. add a new scsi HD. A new Processor upgrade, a ethernet card or modem. os 7.5.5 whitch you can download from apple for free @ download.info.apple.com .

Thanks to both of you, I got

Thanks to both of you, I got it up and running... but of course only a few hours later it quit on me. There are black and white horizontal stripes on the screen now... is there any way I can fix that without taking it apart?
