You didn't turn off cookies or anything did you?
It's weird. I set my browser to accept ALL cookies, and when I try to
open my hotmail account, it says I need to enable cookies in my browser.
It's so frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What Browser/OS are you using? It could be a case of the forced browser upgrades going around.
First I tried it in internet explorer 6 I believe, and it didn't work. Then I tried it in mozilla 1.7 and THAT didn't work. Finally I tried it in mozilla firefox, and THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER!!!!! I am using Windows XP Home Edition. When I went to my firend's house (Jeffrey's), everything works fine. I can send and receive e-mail. I don't know why it isn't working at my house. Also, I found out when I go on ebay, all of the pages are messed up at my house and fine at any other house. CRAZY STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you help me¿?
Thanks,
DanDaMan
Check for worms, viruses, trojan horses.
Your browser might be highjacked. (It
happened to me not long ago.) There's a
lot of this going around lately. I had a
terrible time cleaning out my computer
when this happened to me. Also, CHECK
YOUR DIAL-UP SETTINGS! Make sure your
modem is dialing in the correct number
for your ISP! When I was highjacked, the
first thing I checked was my parameters
and I found my ISP phone number had been
changed. This could have caused a huge
phone bill if it had gone undetected. I
had the same problems as you did, not able
to access Hotmail, my favorites, my home
page, etc. Sites were garbled when they
would come up at all. Had to end up dumping
everything, reformatting and reloading all
stuff over again. Great reason for keeping
backup copies of data.
PS...Get and load a good spyware/adware/bot-
ware program like Spy Bot Search & Destroy
and/or Bazooka Spyware Killer. I now use
both together and have been free of problems.
These programs are perfectly compatible with
regular virus programs like Norton, etc.
I use adaware and spybot-search and destroy together and that seems to get rid of more adware and spyware.
HINT: stop trojans changing your dialup number and do yourself a favour spend £20 and get ADSL.
