9600 Issues....

I have a PoweMac 9600/300 not my g3 upgraded one. This one is pretty much stock aside from having 288MB RAM and a USB card installed Its running MacOS 9.2.2. What I am doing is using my Samsung VGA1000 Camera Phone connected via USB as a modem, it allows me to connect to SprintPCS Vision Internet Service. Well I get it connected and everything and go to run one of my instant messanging clients like yahoo, AIM and MSN, and it crashes the minute it tries to connect to the service, as for web browsing it moves right along with no problems. Any Ideas, cuz i cant even chat anymore, and then to get it to recognize the phone as a USB modem i have to reboot
