howdy all.
With no notice, the monitor (14.1 inches) on my 800Mhz ibook seems to have crapped out. I've not really any experience dealing w/ innards or anything, and was wondering if anyone could suggest preliminary diagnostic moves/fixes?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Go to this link and see if it applies to your iBook. It's a known problem that Apple is fixing at no cost.
ya but look in the right top right colmn of the faq. It sais it doesnt cove display problmems but you still should send it in for the mobo fix
Does the iBook still work? Can you plug in an external monitor and use it normally?
try heading on down to your nearest apple store, even if they cant fix it and it aint covered by the LBRP they can still see if everythign else on you computer works
i've had bad luck with external monitors and usually have to set them up manually to get them to work
if tis covered by the recall the best bet would be to send it in, only takes like a week, a whole FUCKING WEEK
yeah, but i had to send mine in and it came back good as new
otherwise, you can way your option between getting a new display on ebay or getting it fixed by apple, whichever costs more, those LCDs on ebay arent cheap so i'd bet it would be apple, besides, that way you get to keep your warantee
Uh, Tom, can we get those cussing filters set up soon?
sorry
Doesn't bother me much, but it's another thing that needs to be done of the forms sometime. TO may have difrent vews tho'
