800k disks

I recently acquired an old Mac book called "Totally Rad Mac Programs" and it came with an original floppy disk! Then to my disappointment, I found it was 800k only. I can't run it.

Here's what I have?

iMac G3 running Mac OS 9.2
iMac G5 running Mac OS 10.5.
Intel-based iMac running Mac OS 10.6.
A USB "Generic HDD Floppy Drive"
A disassembled Performa 550, complete but lacking peripherals, a monitor, or power supply. It has a floppy disk drive.

The USB drive looks like it may have been a SuperDrive that was built into a translucent corridor.

I'm willing to build the SuperDrive into a USB enclosure, but is the 800k disk problem software-based or hardware-based?

If it's software based, and the USB drive IS, in fact, a SuperDrive, couldn't I run a 68k emulator to harvest the data, or is there something more?

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum, I am new here.

I think the issue is in the d

I think the issue is in the drive controller, which wouldn't change when you swap the drive.

If you want to mail me the disk along with a postage-paid return envelope and a 1.4 MB that you'd like the contents copied to, I'll do it for you.
